There's countless threads on helmet cams if you bother to search. |

My helmet cam' came in useful, when two days later I crashed into the back of a van
For now I'm sure she'll feel self conscious enough without being recorded. However techmoan does good action camera reviews. Not sure what his current fav's but the sjcam 4000 gets mentioned a lot. I've got a refurb drift HD and its been good (although drift stuff seems a bit hit and miss). |

Personally I like the drift cams.
they come with plenty of mounts and are very easy to clip on and off
If you're not worried about decent sound and just want a cam to record any nasties that happen get the stealth, its small, compact and works well.
if she wants to rabbit on to herself like a nutter then go for the ghost s and get an external mic. now if you've got her a cheap helmet the mic will be near useless at speed but there we go.
i use the older HD with external mic in my helmet. i don't chat or upload vids but it makes the sound nice as it cuts out all the wind so you just hear the bike but then i've got a decent, quiet helmet which helps a lot. ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy

IMO Drift Stealth 2 is good option. With mixed feedback on this forum
I have one and I am happy with it.
£60 original SJCAM SJ4000 with wifi mounted permanently in a dash cam mode is also an option. Eliminates the hazzle to charge the helmet cam and/or to run out of battery exactly when you need it. ____________________ Adrian Monk: Unless I'm wrong, which, you know, I'm not...

Well, you obviously have your priorities nicely aligned; Lets let a young girl out on the road, unsupervised on what is statistically the most dangerouse form of motor-transport, with the scantest of training to do so, and no qualifications what so ever..... But HEY... sod the fact she is most likely to crash from doing something daft... lets JUST make sure we get video footage so we can argue who might be to blame while she's in A&E having the gravel rash treated!!!!!!
IF you have the money for a fucking action-cam... buy her some proper fucking LESSONS to better prepare her to NOT crash!!!
WHEN she has had enough lessons to be able to pass a bike test, and be a qualified 'new-rider' STILL most likely to crash through her own inexperience, THEN after a long list of other stuff far more helpful to saving her skin... an action-cam, after an accident, and she is however injured or worse, will still only be any good to argue the toss over culpability with the shy-locks... if that makes YOU feel any better.... it certainly wont take the sting out of even the mildest road-rash, and it certainly wont replace arms or legs!!!!!!
This notion make you re-consider your purchase priorities any? ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
