Sorry, just saw I posted on news.
Where will be a better place for this?
So when I do the eights, I need to indicate left and right?

A mod will move this thread, eventually, into "New Bikers".

No, it is not needed for the 8.

You do have to do life savers before starting off though.

This might help.

I see! yes life savers I knew about.
So, to the my understanding so far is that during module 1 we are not meant to use indicators at all.

PS.
I already re-posted on "New drivers" -> https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=4356177#4356177

Apologies for the double entry...

Yes, but no?

No, I didn't. Indicators are used to send signals to other road users. There aren't any, so no need to indicate.

The IAM/RoSPA observers will actually give you a bollocking for indicating when there's nobody else to be seen. They're wrong about that (it's doubly important to signal to someone that you've failed to see), but it indica-... signa-... shows that the 'advanced' riding fraternity frowns on what they view as unnecessary indication.

You should probably also indicate on the 8's (I'm assuming you mean "figure of 8" as you are still going round the playground or supermarket carpark?)

Just to get practice in ALWAYS indicating. Even if you are knocked off by a blind wanker doing 120 in a 30 zone, you should still have "I had given sufficient indication as to my intention" as an incontestible defence (if you are still alive)

Nothing is more infuriating than a road-user of any description: (regardless of the number of wheels or legs) who does not give sufficient warning of their intent.

I agree with the Borg regarding indicating the RoSPA Q of whether to indicate when "nobody is there to see".

hey buddy,

mod 1 you don't need to worry about indicators at all. just lifesavers and obviously showing that you have control over the bike on all the manoeuvres.

You do not need to worry about indicators!
