CBR600F4 1999. I've already swapped out the huge oem units for small arrow type but there's a problem with one of them so I'm changing.

I'm thinking led, but not tiny. Must be bright and waterproof.
Not bothered if I have to add inline resistors or swap out the flasher relay.
Must also suit the bike.

I'll be doing all 4 with blanking spacers too.

Over to you BCF.

I suppose you've retained the standard incandescent OEM lights so you can take your own advice?

The standard ones are huge tatty blobs.

Ok so faffery of led doesn't seem worth it, plus not sure how bright 'super bright' and the other equally useful descriptions are. Wheras the standard wattage of incandescent bulb indicators are a known quantity.

The micro ones are near impossible to repair as I've found out so I'm going for a larger aftermarket pair.

i have these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181767214694

they are properly small, but very very bright, as i was told repeatedly after the last BCF rideout Laughing

just dont overtighten them.

they are cheap enough to buy 2 sets so you have spares in the event of failure, and they are small enough to carry a spare or two under the seat just in case Thumbs Up

make sure you get the orange lensed ones though, as the clear lens ones i ordered looked almost bright white to me!

Oxford Eyeshot Nano or any from that range. Not cheap, but fantastic quality, all metal shell and very bright. All I will ever use.

Have they proven to be waterproof? Did you fit inline resistors or a suitable flasher unit?

One problem with LEDs is that being bright and having a wide viewing angle are usually mutually exclusive features. So your indicators may appear dazzlingly bright to someone directly behind, but almost invisible to someone close to you but offset (like a driver in another lane).
Multi-LED indicators can be a way around that.

so far yes. I fitted a flasher unit, but also, due to the way the system is wired on the R6, i put zener diodes in the idiot light circuit to prevent current bleed between the two sides. major PITA, but looks much better than the stock indys. i could have just fitted resistors, but the diodes were cheaper (if not harder) to fit.

as for viewing angle, on those type, the lens is designed in such a way that they can be seen from quite a wide angle Thumbs Up rather than a plain lens with an led behind it.

Same bike, I'll be looking at replacing these huge indicators too. I also need to add a USB charges.

Well I can confirm this USB works fine:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262535132445

I left it under the seat, but it wedges into the tray nicely so doesn't move about. I didn't use the mounting bracket, seems to be water resistant and the inline fuse is a good feature.

Nice one cheers. Will buy it. Will have to install it somewhere next to handlebars as I use my phone as Sat Nav.

Let me know how you get on with indicators.

There are probably better alternatives if mounting on the handlebars. There's not much space with clip ons, do some research.
Also you may want to wire via the ignition so people can't steal usb power when you're not with the bike. Not an issue for me as it's locked away.

Personally, I don't think the bulb choice is as important as the circuitry.

Make sure that you connect the wires correctly so that the switch operates randomly. You must keep other road users on their toes. If they come to believe that your left indicator actually means a potential left turn, one day you may not turn left, and that will be that.
