 |

Just thought I'd pick a few brains.
Here's the situation:
Bike in garage (not mine).
Car parked in garage, parked when wet.
Water runs under bike so garage damp.
Bike engine now covered in alloy fur
So thinking need to clean this off with a bit of elbow grease.
Are there any other effective solutions or recommended products?
Was thinking of taking the Dremel with polishing bits and working away at it (air-cooled so lots of fins on engine). However, I believe this just makes it easier for it to come back as any laquer is removed.
So, as I said, looking for ideas/products to use.
Thanks in anticipation ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Just been looking around and found some guys on another site rate this ACF-50 stuff - see here.
Anyone used this stuff?
Does it do what it says on the tin and will it help stop my alloy corrosion? ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

All I have to say on this is be careful on what products you do use. For example some alloy-cleaning product do cause damage to certain alloys depending on brand, make, type of alloy and time left on before washing off. Make sure any surplus spray does not get on plastic faring or plastic bike parts it sometime melts or flakes certain plastics.
Having said this I have found that Autoglym (Yes I am a big fan of Autoglym) if you have read other post. Is the best when I have used it seems to remove alloy dirt and fur well with any other lasting damage. Check on a small part first spray on and brush using a tooth brush, then was off IMMEDIATLY **** Do Not leave on to soak *****
I hope this information is what you are looking for and helps ____________________ Peugeot Speedfight 100cc (year 2000)
