Anyone recommend a sub £100 pinlock included Lid please?
My first Lid so bit out my comfort zone
It needs to look decent, good ventilation and safe although I will only be commuting to work on a scooter.
I know the most important thing is that it fits right but can any one mention some models please to look at.
Thanks. |

I recommend that you go and try lots of different lids on to find what fits you best.

Fit is absolutely paramount. Go into the biggest bike gear shop that you can get to, try on everything that you can afford with a pinlock, and buy whatever fits the best.
Why go in with preconceptions based on one person saying "Yo, yo, you gots to gets you a Bongomongo lid, yo, I'm totes not dead yet, playa." ?
If you do, you're less likely to buy the best helmet for you. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Take someone that rides with you if you can because shop assistants in my experience have always got my sizing wrong. Their happy to take your money but trying to return a helmet because wrong size is the most painful experience you'll go through, best to get it right first time.
Helmets are subjective and not everyone can wear every brand. Work out what type of head shape you have and then what brands make for that head shape. All brands sizing are different and therefore M in one brand is not M in another.
Get a helmet that's designed for upright / touring since my experience of a sports style helmet, while it looked nice, didn't really function very well on my upright tiddler.
I can't stress how important it is to learn how to do all the checks you can to ensure helmet is the correct size. Again returning a worn helmet is almost impossible. Beside that it's bloody dangerous and will make opening and closing the visor a pain because it will move around on your head.
What outlet are you buying from? Look on their website and do Low > High on the search and see what ones include a pinlock. At that price I'd say they'd be pinlock ready rather than include one as standard but my knowledge may be outdated.
Trying on, as above, is most important. Stand in the mirror for as long as you need and make sure it moves your face when you pull on the chin bar, side to side, up and down and all around <dances>. ____________________ The do it all, T̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶r̶o̶k̶e̶n̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶,̶ ̶T̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶i̶g̶ ̶l̶u̶m̶p̶,̶ ̶C̶h̶o̶n̶g̶ ̶N̶o̶o̶d̶l̶e̶ |

I have MT Tunder helmet the one without pin lock. The quality of the helmet is second to none
Highly recomended.
MT are one of the biggest helmet manufacturers in the world and their helmets are great. ____________________ Adrian Monk: Unless I'm wrong, which, you know, I'm not...
