Hello I'm new here and this is my first post.
I'm in the middle of restoring my 1994 Suzuki rf600r and wanted to know of any other members have one as I never see any rf's on the road,

I borght my rf as a spares or repairs and it was a run down piece of shit and now she has a new life with me and she makes me very happy.

When I got her she cost me £400 as a none runner, no farings or nothing, all that's left to do is to get the infill panels, new screen, new chain and sprocket and a tail tidy kit then I will be happy

Darren

That's a really nice job. It's a curious choice to restore, but allah loves wondrous variety.

You sure? Remember the RF is water cooled and I don't think the 750WN lump has anything in common with the RF.

Here is a pic of when I got her, I don't think there shit it's nice to ride and comfortable got plenty of power, I've read that a lot of people don't like them because of the design and a lot of people don't like the vents on the farings, my bike gets lots of attention off people when parked up and people asking questions about it and one person thought it was a new bike not 22 years old

Could be a Marmite thing, but I really like the aesthetics on the RF600R. OK, the vents are in-your-face, but they work for me. The headlight looks of its period, but that's simply because it doesn't look post modern weird for the sake of weird.

That contiguous curve on the tank and frame is lush, and the orange is very now. I'm a fan.

When I first got it I didn't like the styling but it's really grew on me and now I can't fault it, i agree it is a marmite thing, I borght a orange helmet before it was resprayed, and decided to respray the bike to match the helmet so now it's easily seen, bright and loud which in my eyes is safer riding Very Happy

Seen the back end? The Enterprise would question whether it lacked rear visibility after seeing that.

It looked kind of weird, dated, testarossa back then, but it's cooler now and it's one of the rarest 600's. There's probably more mk1 GSXF's around than these, and they are hardly common now. But I do like a GSXF more looks wise, especially with a Pepsi or lucky strike paint job, I think they are better looking/more conventional than a GPX or early jellymould CBR, if not as capable.

OP has done a nice job on his bike and it looks like a good result to me.

While the RF's spaceship looks and arse are not minimalist or slinky, I don't think the RF is much more ugly than later bikes like the ZX12R or to a lesser extent things like the Thunderace.

The 900's are a bit of a cult bike now, but still cheap when you see them for sale. I know a bloke that had one years ago, then had an R1, then a Honda SP2, and got rid of it to buy another RF9?

I just feel like it fits me perfectly as I feel so comfortable with no wrist ache or leg cramps I can't fault the rf and don't think I will ever sell her I want to keep her for many years if I can

I never really liked them, but looking at them now, they have aged really well.
The rear end is bigger than I'd like, but yeah, It's pretty cool.
