bike only runs on choke

hello
i have a 70cc peugeot xp6, it was a non runner until i put a brand new carb on plus a new plug and change of oil and 2 stroke.

it starts up on choke and runs well then dies out, next i turn off the choke and it runs for 30 seconds and then dies

any ideas?

Does it have a vacuum fuel tap?

nope there isn't a vacuum fuel tap only a hole in the fuel cap which has a screw in (no air is getting in)

no, its just a a standard fuel shut off value

There should be a drain screw in the bottom of the carb. Undo it and see if fuel comes out.

Could be running lean, hence running ok when you enrich the mixture on choke.
Brand new carb, meaning pristine clean? Did you tinker with the screws?

Is the fuel filter blocked or fuel line kinked/trapped?

it rides for on choke for 2 minutes and without for 30 seconds then dies. and yes it was brand new increased the idle screw a little. fuel line are clean and so is the filter. the screw was in the tank before i brought it

As everyone above is intonating, it seems like fuel starvation. You sure there are no vac lines are connected to the fuel tap?
Is fuel flowing from the tap?
Are all gaskets and rubbers air tight?

Take the petrol cap off start it up see if it starts and runs ok without the cap if it does must be the screw.
