To be sure, I'd very carefully peel back the pad, wipe down again with alcohol, rinse thoroughly with clean water, then, very, very gently, throw the YBR in a ditch and buy a real bike.
6 years and still tiddling, love a duck. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

OP, go to the paint shop, ask for a paint (small amount) in the colour of your tank (they'll mix it up for you), then use a small brush to touch the place with paint. Let it dry up, then smooth it out and wax it.
If you ever had/buy a car, that's pretty much what you do with the paint chips and scratches, to prevent it from rusting. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

No.. no you aren't.....
IF you WERE.... then you would have to nib back around the chip; prime & touch with colour match...
THEN you'd spot it.. and it doesn't 'quite' match.... so you would nib back a wider area, and path spray, cut back and laquer, to blend...
AND you'd STILL 'see' it... so you'd sand down the whole tank; prime, spray, get genuine Yamaha Decals to re-finish, and laquer over....
THEN you'd sit back, relax and admire your handiwork...... and ride into the back of a bus!!!!!!!
Alternatively.... you'd get off and note that the side panels don't 'quite'match the shininess/colour of the tank..... And THIS will NOT do.... so out will come the wet and dry, the primer, paint, OE Decals and laquer again.. ad that wll show up the tail unit and front mudguard... and of course the seat, and OH! Those handlbars look a bit 'tatty'...
And the buses need never worry... you will NEVER ride again, you'll be too busy chasing infinitesimal 'faults cleaning contacts, spraying connector blocks with WD40 and sealing with Vaseline; dangling brake levers in ice cream tubs on battery charger clips re-doing the anodize, and sending exhaust headers away to be show-chromed.... and WHEN there's nothing left to 'improve'..... wearing it all out with T-Cut and Solvol.
Tank pad over a chip? You're not OCD your a heathen Botchilist!!!
