Tiny paint chip to tank

Hi.

My new YBR has a tiny paint chip to the tank. I mean tiny, about the size of a pin head. However, I'm OCD and stuff like this really nags at me.

Anyway, I wiped, waxed, wiped with an alcohol wipe and finally fitted a tank pad which covers it. However, I've since thought whether I've done the right thing and whether this will rust.

Do I need to remove the tank pad and add touch up paint to it? The chip is not down to the metal and is effectively sealed with the tank grip.

A very anal question, I know, but something so tiny feels like a huge wound.

I've also told myself repeatedly to get a grip yet here I am asking for advice on a forum.

it will be reet, no doubt the bike is going to pick up knocks an dings.

If the chip is under the adhesive of the pad, no air/ water can get to it so it should be cool

To be sure, I'd very carefully peel back the pad, wipe down again with alcohol, rinse thoroughly with clean water, then, very, very gently, throw the YBR in a ditch and buy a real bike.

OP, go to the paint shop, ask for a paint (small amount) in the colour of your tank (they'll mix it up for you), then use a small brush to touch the place with paint. Let it dry up, then smooth it out and wax it.

If you ever had/buy a car, that's pretty much what you do with the paint chips and scratches, to prevent it from rusting.

Peel the tank pad off, clean the chip up again, dab a little clear lacquer on it to seal it properly then reapply tank pad.

This is coming from the man who is still just using a dab of thick grease to seal a chip on my tank because I'm too lazy to do fuck all else about it.

You'll probably bin the bike and scratch the tank to fuck sooner than the miniscule chip compromises that tanks integrity.
