 |
|
Hello,
I've spent too long aiming to build muscle that I'm now carrying too much fat and I'm basically a fat blob.
I've started changing my diet and workouts to pretty much all cardio, so I'm looking at what else I can do to squeeze a little extra for my efforts and to speed up the process.
I've read mixed reviews about fat burners, some which say the caffeinated ones work well whilst others say they can be very dangerous and are to be avoided.
Considering I drink a lot of tea during the day I'm wary about the extra caffeine.
Look for any help or pointers, information, recommendations, experiences etc.
Thanks,

Short answer: probably not, and even ones that do, the overall effect is very small percentages, the likes of which only pro-bodybuilders will be concerned with, and they're juicing up on all sorts of stegs in addition to any fat burners.
From my many years in the ghetto, I can say hand on heart that the "Crack Diet" works wonders as well.

Clenbuterol, Albuterol, Trebolone.
Legal? No, there are no legal fat burners that work.
Also no, I would not condone using those substances to lose fat any more than I would recommend Ghosties Crack diet
Lift weights, everyday - high frequency and do low pace cardio, about 30 mins every day with heart rate around 130-140bpm and follow through for as long as it takes, keeping calories at maintenance (the cardio will keep you in deficit) - use my fitness pal to track everything (right down to the condiments) this is as practically as accurate as you will get without resorting to lab testing your meals. The longer you do this the slower it will happen, such is life things get harder, the main thing is consistency.
If you will use caffeine get it in tablet form and bulk at least you know thats all thats in there and no sugar (caffeine does have a minimal effect on long term fat loss). Or you can use coffee, green tea, guarana etc etc ____________________ Past -Honda qr50 | 2004 Peugeot Tkr s 50| | 1996 Yamaha XJ600s Diversion|| 2005|Kawasaki Z750s | | 2006 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer |

I used a product called Diamond Labs ECA Stack about 5 years ago. It worked, in combination with reasonable diet and exercise I lost about two stone in two months.
But it soon slowed up, and the product got banned anyway.
I've now reverted to myfitnesspal and running, which is sustainable and while it takes much longer (3 stone in two years) the weight is staying off.
Calories in, calories out. If you're gaining fat, you're either eating too much or not moving enough.
Or it's your thyroid
Edit: they made me sweat like fuck and I was constantly parched. Mouth like a fucking desert, no matter how much I drank. Wasn't nice. |

Short of surgical intervention (or a chronic coke habit), there are no short cuts.
Eat less, be more selective with your food, and keep up with the exercise. Even with the remarkably shit year I've had with regards to exercise, I've still lost some weight by modifying my diet a bit. If I go full puritan on my eating, I'll probably drop a ton of weight by this time next year. ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |

I've decided to shift a bit this year, so bought one of the many "unwanted gift" Garmin Viviactive HR smart watches on Ebay.
I eat pretty sensibly, but drink too much. What I hadn't realised is just how little activity I did with a sit down job. My heart rate even walking briskly up hill can hit 140bpm and upwards too, which isn't good. But I am currently shifting 18.5 stone clothed.
I've given it a target of 0.5KG a week. I have a calorie starting target of around 2000 a day, plus whatever I burn, then take off calories consumed. I need to burn around 500 a day more than I consume. It started me off fairly easy with only 5000 or so steps a day. 3 weeks on I'm up to well over 9,000 a day now and almost 4,000 calories burnt, with less than 3500 including wine consumed. This is mainly due to walking very quickly and not sitting still for too long. More than an hour or so and it detects your heart rate slowing and nags you to move for a few minutes. Just done it now, so will pop out to the garden and walk about for a bit until the move bar clears. (Working from home today).
No matter how much I try to walk more though, on work days I'm not hitting 9,000 a day without walking around in circles in front of the TV for an hour or so a night. I've hit the target every day though. 10,000 steps for me is around 5 miles.
It is actually working for me. I've lost 3 pounds so far. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

Got banned becase the effective ingredient ephedrine was made illegal- there is a saying, nothing legal works - if it does it will soon be illegal. |
Well, that's only because its a pre-cursor for crystal meth synthesis, I doubt they give a fuck much if people are using it to shed a few pounds.

Load of bollocks and he knows it.
All these fat burners all come with a clause... "you must be working on, taking as part of a healthy lifestyle, etc".
I could tell you to eat fucking smarties if you were working out all the time and eating clean and you would see results, is that because of the smarties?
I was involved in supplements for a while, it's all a load of bollocks, the weight loss side I mean. Sure you can take Vitamin C tablets and they will give you exactly what you need but there's no super fat burning pills that just work out the box, you need to be working out and eating clean and if you're doing that... you don't fucking need fat burning pills because they're a placebo. |
