Dropped the Fazer

No idea how I managed this, I had it on the centre-stand, oiling the chain and it rolled forward off of the stand. Luckily it was near the garage and the fairing hit the garage door which saved a lot of damage.

The only damage I can see is that the fairing has a split and is now at the wrong angle. It looks like the fairing is only held on by a couple of rods connected to the yoke which appear twisted.

Is it just a case of replacing the rods, in which case what are they called? Or is it worth trying to straighten them, I suspect getting them dead right will be a bit tricky.

I took this pic on the side stand then 'shopped it to make the bike look upright, you can see the fairing's twisted.

No input on how to fix it I'm afraid but I'm so glad I'm not the only one doing dumb stuff like this today. I dropped my ER5 when I got to work because the side stand got caught in my trousers and I pulled it back up without noticing...

Ah that's not even the best I've done, 2 bikes back I had a 600 bandit, dropped that when I left the disc lock on and tried to back it up...

Sometimes you can just stand astride front wheel facing the bike and wrench the bars while gripping the wheel with your knees to get it something like - especially if this in the middle of the moors at 1am
In the shed you might slacken things off and do more or less the same, it's unlikely anything actually bent.

doggone - thanks, I'll give it a try in the morning with a breaker bar. I actually tried with a big screwdriver, I now have a bent screwdriver. Not wishing the afternoon to degenerate into a Mr. Bean sketch I thought I'd consult the BCF sages before trying anything heaftier.

I suspect they're a deliberate weak point, I'm not too worried about the frame, I'm not a big muscly geezer.

That will be the fairing mounting bracket they can be manipulated fairly easily remove the mirrors screen fairing and lights. Then lots of minor whacks with a rubber mallet keep checking until it is spot on as it will piss you off every time you look at it if it's slightly out.

Had a similar issue when the Bandit fell over. I managed to crowbar / rubber mallet it more or less back into shape .... Then spotted a good used one on eBay for only £20. No brainer.
