So i've had this bike since June 2016, done 5KM going to work and back and this morning going to work it started jerking at 30MPH+ then cut out and wouldn't start for 5 minutes or so, Now it won't start every time, i have to keep trying for 5 minutes or so then it does, then off i go and when it get's to high revs 30MPH+ it jerks and cuts out, could this be down to battery?
If so does it need charging or is it ballsed.
Bought the bike brand new, only done 5KM.

Thanks.

test the battery and see what voltage it has with a multi meter

should be 12.5 volts normal going up to about 14 when running

also before you get karma bombed should be in workshop area

Bombers were already in flight.

It's starting and running at low RPM, so I wouldn't suspect the battery.

Either the electrics are spazzing out, or you're not getting enough fuel through.

When it cuts out, immediately shut off the fuel tap, and then drain the float bowl. Is there fuel in it?

On the electrics, is the plug cap secure? Any sign of cracks in the cap or the HT lead? Follow the HT lead from the plug to the coil, and check that everything is secure, including the low tension terminals on the coil.

Oh, I was thinking of the Superbyke (and others) RMR, since OP said "bike". Since it's a scootay, I'd like to change my advice to "It's within warranty, so it's Lexmoto's problem."

It could be the tappets? Very Happy

Actually at 30MPH it prolly isnt... I had a similar problem but it was after sustaining 60mph on a slight incline for a while...

Oh and welcome to the forum...
