Hi,
I think this may have been covered before but can't seem to find the right thread via a search. If anyone does know it from before just point me to the thread.
Anyhow, thinking of getting an air horn. A Stobel Nautilus, because it's small and has everything in one unit.
Mounting will not be a problem, however, I want to keep my original horn as well.
So I'm wondering what the circuit layout would be including the original as the air horn uses a relay.
FYI I don't like auto electrics but I'm perservering with my phobia and relays confuse me at times .
Thanks ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Thanks for the info. Should be able to get that wired up using the original connectors for the horn so avoid splicing too many cables.
FYI I wanted to keep the original horn fitted for two reasons:
In case any question over it being legal for MOT
In case any delay from the air horn the original cuts in first
Thanks again ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

After investigateing for myself i found that "apparently" theres no problem with the horn (should declare it on the insureance though) provided its no too quiet, can be as loud as you like (within reason).
Go to a scrap yard and get some relays from there, they are £2 for 20odd, instead of £5 each!
SOLDER ALL the conncetors and use the propper stuff, made the mistake of shoddy wireing (only got away with it because of the liberal electrical tapeing) defenately use the right ampage wireing too, dont forget the fuses!
Scotch bolks, while very handy, will go rotten, and be the source of much grief somewhere allong the line... save the pain and use propper sleaved, crimped and soldered spades
Hmmm need to fit mine again ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |
