TLDR: After a recommendation for a rivet gun
After the other thread went down pretty well forks were helicoiled and survived the mot still not leaking so I must have done a good job.
Anyway I'm going to be modifying my single seat, cutting it down so it's much comfier. Now the leather is currently held on by pop rivets, I can drill them out but I was wondering if anyone can recommend a rivet gun
Is it worth going cheap or spend a bit more ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

For a seat I would just get a cheapo Halfords one. For steel rivets etc I would say get a lazy-tong or air riveter but you don't need those for a little job like that. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

eBay cheapo has done fine for me for light duty like that.
An electric stapler gun should also do the trick unless that plastic is particularly hard. Mine bangs staples and nails deep into timber no trouble at all. Again, bargain basement stuff, no point in paying pro rates for a tool that you'll only use sparingly. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Yeah. Cheapo pop-rivett gun should do fine for that. Aluminium pop rivetts with nice big heads. The cheaper/less known the make, the flimsier it'll be.
I've got a bog standard draper one and it'll cope with alloy ones up to say 8mm diameter. It struggles with 5mm stainless ones, you really need to get both hands on and take a couple of bites at it then the shock runs up your arm as they pop. I wouldn't want to do a lot of those in a day.
Just don't get the meat of the palm of your hand between the two "legs" just at the point where it pops! ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

You certainly talk a good game about whipping your tool out for Sammy. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
