My knee jerk would be coils / HT leads / plug caps, but since it's starting then spazzing, my head says some sensor, either oxygen sensor in the exhaust or throttle position sensor. I'd hit it with a can of WD40 before trying anything clever. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I've uploaded a video here to show the issue I'm having. It idles fine (I think) when it's cold, its when it warms up and I assume the automatic choke makes changes to the fuel mixture where it starts to experience problems. As you see at the end of the video I blip the throttle a bit to show what happens when I'm riding it and then it will be unable to start without throttle. It's clear from the video that the engine isn't running right as you can hear it misfiring or something similar to that. Please let me know if anyone can hear anything obvious that I'm missing. I'm new at all this. (my old 2002 cbr600f never had any issues )

Mmmmm, thinking that it might be your fuel pump or FPC. Certainly worth investigating further. The R1200R has a tendency to allow water to gather around the fuel filler cap and you may have suffered from water ingress during your Glencoe ride. Many owners fit an Abdeckring (I did) which seals the filler cap and you can get them off ebay.de.
If it's not the pump itself, it's probably the fuel pump controller. The part number for the 1200GS is 16147720776 and I guess that it's the same for the R, but you could check online - https://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do?kind=M&arch=0
The basic rule for the FPC is Black = good, Silver = bad. Most 1200's had a recall but maybe not yours?
If you're handy, there's a bypass of the FPC which you can do, but we'll leave that for later |

My bike so now with BMW. Hopefully it won't cost me too much. Missing my cbr600 right about now. ____________________ Honda CBR600F6 |

I know, I'm expecting a right royal bumming. Sure hoping their diagnostic gizmo picks up the problem. ____________________ Honda CBR600F6 |

Douglas Park Motorrad, by any chance?
I'll be interested to hear how that turns out. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Ah, good news.
Is it a cheap job though? Honestly, I have no idea what dealer costs are like on BMWs. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

That actually sounds reasonable enough, although a GS-911 is first on my list if (when) my midi-Tractor starts acting up. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
