 |
|
As daft as they look I have got my Jincheng M50 (Monkey bike) out of storage to use as a local commuter bike.
Been in the garage and not run for about 7 years.
Fired up after a few mins of kicking but a bit spluttery as the old petrol was shot.
Put new petrol in, replaced inline fuel filter and hoses to carb. Passed MOT without much trouble.
Starts and tics over fine, set off for work and after about 2 miles it died at the lights. Started after a few kicks and ran for another half a mile then after that it kept chugging and cutting out about every 100 metres and was a pig to start every time until I finally got to work.
Any ideas greatly appreciated. |

Before you shell out on a new coil, another quick thing you could try (as it has a tiny tank) is to ride it until it stops, then undo the fuel cap - if you can hear air rushing in, then your tank breather is partially blocked.
A new cap or breather pipe fixes the problem. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........
