Hi,

Hoping someone with a drift stealth 2 can help me with a query

I have this flip front https://www.thevisorshop.com/en/gb/HJC-RPHA-MAX-EVO-Flip-Front-Helmet-Anthracite/m-15435.aspx?PartnerID=21&utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=UnitedKingdom&gclid=CjwKEAjw3drIBRCOwfC-_qqyjQ8SJADvoWQpS8bi0owSIQ0MZcwFzrOt3TgbzFjJkqMwnKQylGlHKBoCCpfw_wcB

I'm wondering where is best to mount the camera on the helmet and which mount to use, curved, etc.

No, I'm not a vlogger, just want something for if/when the worst happens when commuting

Thank you in advance for the help

I use curved mounts on my open face lids, but flat seemed to fit better on the flip front. A standard kit will come with one of each so you'll be able to offer them up and see which one gets better contact.

The mounts are pretty strong, I've never had any concerns over them.

What isn't so strong is the rear cover and the squeezy clip on the insert that slots into the mount. I've had to superglue both of them back together.

NP. You bought the Stealth already?

To be fair to the snappy plastics, mine has been in daily use in all weathers and swapped between helmets constantly for almost two years and the camera itself is still working well. The (non replaceable) battery life is down to about 90 minutes now, but that's still more than sufficient for my purposes, and an external power pack can be used for longer runs.

I'm pretty happy with it and am not aware that anything better has come onto the market in that price range.

I did, got a refurbed (but looks brand new) one from ebay from drift themselves for £50. No packaging, but has the flat mount, curved mount, googles mount (no velcro) and the hatch etc.

I've got s Stealth 2 and I agree the sticky mounts are more than strong enough. What I don't like is shitty battery life and limited SD card capacity, I'd like to chuck a 128Gb in. I find myself not turning it on more than it gets turned on if I'm honest. I don't use mine for any vlogging or such hormonesexual activities, it's purely an insurance recording device.

A fair number of them seem to go pop in short order but Drift are good about sorting them out, therefore the availability of refurbs. Should be reet.

A 32Gb card and cyclic recording is fine for me, that's multiple hours of footage, more than I'd ever want to retain.

What sort of battery life are you seeing from yours?

To be fair I commute 1hr or so a day and it'll need charging on day two. Mainly the thing that makes me procrastinate charging it when I get in is faffing about unscrewing the port cover to plug it in.

It is annoying. The knob on mine came off in short order, but a dab of superglue has seen it right. I am going to lose that back cover eventually.

The spinnamob wheel thing broke on mine Sad

I emailed them to have a moan and they were like here's a link to buy a new one. I emailed them and moaned some more and they sent me two free replacements.

OP has flippylid though. On the main shell just behind the flip seemed to be the best location on mine.
