That's a great idea for using one strap and going right under the bag through both rings, for that I can possibly even use a strap that came with the bag, it's nylon and had d-rings like a helmet. Good thinking
I'll try the app called Cram too, thank you |

I use some straps with double-D rings. Secure enough. Came with some old Oxford luggage I no longer use, and were about the only useful thing from them ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I used a rubber mat sold by Oxford/Halfrauds to cover the pillion seat and tail unit to go under the tail pack when I rode around France the other year.
I drilled out the tips of the pillion footpegs so that I could attach a pair of bungee hooks and made sure that the mat covered the bodywork from the rear bungee cord going to the rear indicators. I then used a bungee web around the lot so that it would hold the bike cover between me and the soft luggage.Worked a treat, even at highly illegal speeds

I gave up on bungees. They don't hold things as securely as straps, I've found. I sometimes still carry a cargo net, useful to stuff things under, but damned if I can find good quality ones anymore
That Oxford "Blanket" stuff I use in exactly the same way, with a bit under the tank bag too. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017
