Bandit blocked drain?

For ages ive been trying to figure out why my Bandit runs like a bag of spanner if it gets a tad bit moist

I think i figured it, after checking the wiring as best i could, i pulled the caps out, leaving the plugs in and poked a bit of wire in all the drain holes which all seemed clear.

I then squirted a bit of water down the plug holes, all but one drained as it should.

For the life of me, i cant get the other to unblock.

Any ideas??

Squirt quite a bit of DW40 in the hole as well as in the spark plug hole. should help with the cleaning.

Poke a wire through from the headers side, try some garden plant wire as it should be thin enough to go through.

Brake or Clutch Cable will be flexible enough to go down or up the hole too.
Pedal Bikes use thinner gauge cable.

I use the string from a mower. A steel cable could damage something.

If it's a straight passage, just use a long nail.

Still blocked grr

tried a straightened big paper clip, it hits something an goes no further.

Tried a copper rod which was thinner than the paperclip an nothing

road bike (pedal) gear cable....nowt

anyone any ideas?

i cant get anything thin enough into the hole, but strong enough to give it a clout

Any room to get a compressor airline in there?

If you haven't got a compressor then pick up a can of compressed air from the pound shop, give it a blast through.

If the passage is straight, use a small drill bit, and drill the dirt out. Use the smallest drill bit possible, go slow, low revs. IF that won't help, then I don't know what could.

didnt think of compressed air, will have a go tonight.

I will see if i can get anything into the drain from the plug side tonight, be a tight squeeze with the plug still in the hole though.

next step i think is to them attack it with a drill?

fixed it!!

I stopped being lazy an pulled the tank off, coil an anything else in the way so you could see direct into the recess an spotted what looked like a rubber seal/ o ring

made a hook out of a bit of wire an pulled it out, it was one of the little rubber seals from a coil plug grrr

water now drains as it should.

Reckon that would cause all the misfires when it rained?

Simple to check, fire it up and leave it idling while you fire the garden hose/watering can at it.
