Just a public service announcement now that my refund has come through, that these guys are basically Del Boy.

Couple of weeks ago I bought this https://r.ebay.com/ofjzS4 for £135. One of the mounts is broken so you can't actually fit it to the bike without bodgery (and fuck paying £135 for something broken). So I sent it back, got a refund and now they've relisted it for more money. It's still broken, it's the exact same listing and they're still saying it's in perfect condition.

Well, you got a refund. I can't say I'm impressed that they've relisted the item without comment but maybe a genuine mistake? Seems a bit pointless for them to have done it deliberately as when the next buyer kicks off it will cost the seller more £££ and hassle to refund again?

With a feedback rating of 99.7% (not bad for a scrappie, where there's plenty of scope for scams and cockups) on their last 25,000 sales, I think I'd still be prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt

How long was it listed before you bought it?

If it was fairly quick sale they know they didn't charge enough. Plus they've already lost out on one set of postage. Can almost guarantee some mug will buy it and not complain.

And it's also considerably cheaper now, £79.99 rather than the original £149.99

That wasn't there when I looked earlier, ya piece a crap, isn't there now, and "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

Ah, they've re-listed it at half the price and twice the honesty:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192280354733

Exclamation OP obviously snapped the mount, is trying to blame the seller. Exclamation

You can't if you're refunded I believe - which is irksome as you can be seriously messed about and have no recourse.

(Ie you ask questions about the product because you need it to be the right one in a short time frame, they lie about it, then refund... and there's no recourse for you apart from then going to buying something else from them just to leave feedback.)

Bought many things from them over the years.

No problems, either bad luck or bad buyer. Either way, don't deserve a neg for this. They refunded you, put it towards a ViperPal and be happy.

I've bought from them too in the past - always seemed to give good service and good value.

Interesting that they've updated it with correct info and a lower price since I posted this. Are we being watched?

With 25,000+ feedback, they will have more than one person working the ebay account

someone lower down the food chain probably just clicked "Relist", before bossman gave them a verbal clip round the ear and sorted it out

Or maybe someone on BCF contacted the seller.

Most bits I get from breakers are semi-fooked in some way, I thought that was part of the 'fun'.

For only £30 less than brand new from Yamaha I'd have been fine with cosmetic damage but I really did want 4 out of 4 mounting points.

They seem to have decided to go for honesty with this particular item anyway now [that somebody has given them a heads up] and everyone is welcome to make their own choices in life. Just figured I'd give folks a heads up that these people have been a bit naughty and thus might do so again.

I'd have got the new ones for £30 more Smile It has to be a substantial saving for me to use a breaker.
