I have the ns 125 r and had my first real failure in 4 years with it, riding it and suddenly couldn't select gears stuck in 3rd and 4th,
straight away knew it was a selector mech problem and when stripped low and behold

as you can see the drum stopper wheel has come away and thanks to the power of eBay and a few penny's i now have a replacement the only problem is the tool to remove the peg nut still hasn't arrived
is there anyone around york who has the tool to remove, or anyone with any tips on how to remove this nut in the centre of the clutch

Same castle nut as the 125 Super-Dreams I suspect. Certaily typical Honda specific niggle.
I Castigated an brand new socket to make spanner to undo fist one; wasn't a 5'min job... and it did work, but far from easily.
With umpety more motors to do, I tracked down the propper castle-socket.. and it is a doddle... after locking the clutch with a bit of old ali glazing bar in the gears and getting some-one rather hefty to sit the back of the bike to stop the whole damn bike twisting... and a 'dowh!' returning to the castle nut lock-washer and making sure it IS properly hammered out of the way with a thin drift.
Tacking down the correct castle nut spanner, was somewhat more convoluted than expected.and a lot of questions had to be asked of e-bay vendors after checking the CMSL microfishe, narrowing down the field to zero a few times, before I actually found one. ISTR I got one in the end, and it was actually cheaper than replacing the socket I'd ground down to make first tool! And I am also quite sure I didn't get it from DSS, who are usually pretty good for such stuff, and would be first port of call....
However... bottom line is that the nut itself is under a tenner, and more readily available than tool... so bottom line when faced with same problem, and a pre-butchered nut ISTR on the seven fifty, was to butcher it out with grinder and hammer, and replace nut.. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
