Nsr125 just purchased with crank case full of mystery fluid

Just picked this up , guy said he'd owned it 4 days and was on the way home and it was pissing it down and the bike cut out, he was recoverd home and told by the recovery firm "wet electrics " leave it 2 or 3 days and it will stat.
3 months later I bought it with it still not staring .
Now somthing very worrying , he took the barrel off and took some photos , the crank case was full of liquid a reddish liquid , Now that's either gear oil gushing through the seals or he's been cranking it for hours on end and massively flooded it .
I've added the pic he showed me , surly it's not possible to flood it that bad ?
Btw he said he cleaned it all out and it still dident start ?
What do you lot think it could be ?

Red liquid does suggest 2 stroke oil or gearbox oil. But also possibly pink anti freeze if they didn't drain the coolant before they started to take it to pieces.

Do you have a spark? Do you have fuel getting in?

I've litraly just picked it up .

Pure antifreeze might appear like that, while also possibly being too viscous to pump around effectively for coolant.

That said, some people have filled cooling systems with oil before now!

Used to have a Honda moped with a gear driven 2stroke oil pump on the crankcase, as the bike was left standing for long periods of time the oil would leak past the oil pump seals and into the crankcase. Caused all sorts of messing about when trying to start including hydrolocking, fouling the plug and smoking big time once started. That does look like oil in your engine, have you got the same autolube pump? Is it leaking internally? Was there oil in the tank when you collected the bike?

That is pretty full! That level is high compared to even the gearbox oil level.

Does look like oil with a bit of water in it.

It is odd. Only way I can see getting that much 2 stroke oil in is if someone connected the oil tank directly to the carb, bypassing the pump! But the gearbox oil would require a very dead seal. Either wrecked (in which case I would expect it to go back into the gearbox when parked), or the seal in backwards (in which no way would it run for 6k)

Anti-freeze was mentioned early on, although subsequent posts suggest it is more likely to be oil. Still, for information ethylene glycol tastes sweet but latterly I believe it is sold with a bittering agent to deter self-poisoning. For analytical purposes taste could be useful, but dip your finger and don't swallow, spit.
