Got a caberg myself, J1+ to be precise. Never tried a proper non flip up lid, so I suspect my caberg is a smidgen louder at motorway speeds. Of course, noise doesn't comine into it for me, as I wear ear plugs on longer journeys.
Just go in and see what fits |

i've got an older style agv.but i'm not so keen on it. are the newer ones a lot better?
i was going to get a caberg bit i've heard a lot of cases of the fastener opening on it's own and the flip-up ones failing in a crash. |

First helmet was a Kiwi, around 50 pounds, from John wrens motorcycle center, got me through my test and onto a 125 anyway, currently looking for a new one.

I've got the Caberg V2 full face with sunvisor £100.
It is all down to what helmet fits best though. ____________________ Suzuki RF 600 - The two wheeled Testarossa (Deceased)

mines a shark helmet (like the one in the picture but without the coloured visor) i payed £70 for it reduced from £120 as it was the last size left
you should be able to pick shark helmets up for less than £100

Caberg J1 for me, got it for £70 at the NEC.
It is a bit louder than my last full face, but it doesnt mist up and the convenience of a flip-up outways the noise problem.
Can't wait for the summer to drag out the mat black p155pot lid and goggles and get the flies back on my teeth. |

HJC - bought at the NEC for £110 - fluffing brilliant.
Last lid was a Shark, and since I panic a wee bit, it was always misting up, this one is excellent, no misting, hardly any wind noise and no wobbling around at high speeds (tho this is probably down to bad fit if it happens).
And the iridium visors are only £25 !!! WA-HEY
Highly recommended
My Shark visor was £50 |

Had the AGV V-flyer for a year now. As a helmet, the protection inspires confidence and the lining is comfortable. For performance though, the visor doesnt feel to open and close with enough conviction, the vents feel the same whether they are open or not. Personally the Double D locking system has worked out the wrong option but is secure. The worst part though is the wind noise, which is a shame because it really is a nice helmet!
If you want a new lid its best to decide a budget and try out everything in the style you want. What works for me might not work for you, for all you know I might have a head shaped like an alien and thats why the AGV is comfortable. Having spent most of saturday trailing round the Scottish show with a mate who wanted a flip up helmet you can see the big difference. He really wanted the schuberth but when he put it on his face was nearly touching the chin bar. When he tried on the new version of his aria for comparison he could nearly get his fist into it.
Go try some on and see what works best, I got my AGV because it was the only one in the shop that fit!
good luck
