Waterproof Phone Mount

I see people who have their phone mounted on the their bike bars or yoke and wonder what's the best setup I need?

Is there any advantage to the ones that clip to the bar over ones that screw in to the yoke?

Phone is an S7 Edge and bike is an 2016 RSV4 RF.

I have been looking on ebay but they range from £5 to £50.

I have an S7 which like the Edge is IP68 water resistant. I use one of those cheap £5 zip up ones with a bar mount that the case clips on to. Been out in a downpour with it and the phone was fine.

Didn't fully trust the clip though so added a backup choker around the mount using a bit of shoelace. Thumbs Up

Cheap waterproof case that fits your phone, the clear bag type ones, stuck in an X-grip (RAM clone), about a tenner from China for the holder.

EDIT:- Mine mounts under the mirror, but some of the clones have a bar mount as well.

I've used these for a few years https://www.twistyride.com/ good quality but questionable if its required now that most phones are waterproof.

Givi do a great range of universal and phone specific cases. A bit pricey though at around £30-40 depending on model and where you shop.

I always found with the cheap Chinese shite that there was way too much slack on where the screen sits, so the plastic cover ripples slightly and glares in the sun so you cant see the screen. Not to mention would you trust your £600+ phone to a £5 bit of plastic made by child sweatshop labour? The Givi mounts are rock solid, don't vibrate or lose their position, and have a little sun shade built in which I find really helps using satnav in summer.

Cost £15 from amazon. It's surprisingly well made, nothing wobbles, and you can cinch everything down nice and tight. The claw means i put it on/off in seconds without tools.
My lg g6 is waterproof anyway, but i did do the waterproof test mentioned above. Nothing got through. For the money Thumbs Up

I used to use one of the ultimate addons cases with a ram ball mount. It was good, but not cheap. I quite liked the stem mount they do beccuase I could still use my bar muffs.
