Whats your favourite bits of biking paraphernalia? things you think "blimeh, i'm glad i got that!"

And one you wish you didn't bother with.

Top bike parts/tools/luggage:

Arrow "Little bleeder" For brake fluid changes, makes a 1hour two people job a 15minute 1 person job, really handy.

Arrow Cargo net.. adjustable ones exist, under the seat or in a coat pocket, anything from shopping to pillions helmet or securing bags, should come free with the bike.

Arrow GPS... i'm a tart, i don't need one, they are just clever and fulfill a need for flashing lights and special things like these in my life.

Top gear/clothing

Arrow Hein gericke "master3" Two piece textile suit, had it 4 years now, worn it 5 days a week, The lining on the trousers ripped slightly (because of the armour really) but sewed it up and its 100% like new, pricey but absolutely brilliant, i'll have another if it ever falls apart Very Happy

Arrow Gortex windstopper balaclava - Looks stupid but is great for winter riding, if your a filthy hippy like me it keeps your hair out of the way.. in summer on long journeys it stops the sweaty helmet syndrome (don't even think it!) excellent for longer trips.

Arrow Seal skins/Neoprene socks (unissued army kit) With socks inside they will keep your feet warm in the coldest of journeys (used with sidi vertebres) if they get too sweaty its absolutely totally disgusting, dont use them unless its really cold + take spare socks.

Arrow (cheating) Carabina and a key ring.. Key ring goes on the jacket perminently (mines on the pocket flap) carabina has your keys on it, when its out of the ignition put it on there = never loose your keys again! (unless you loose your coat or bike with keys attached)

Most pointless..

Arrow "Respro foggy breath guard" - although i've heard many good things about these mine was pants, utter rubbish, did no good whatsoever, in fact it made the situation 10 times worse... shame really... glasses probably don't help, also probably depends on yer elmit.

Anyone else care to share clever bikeing bits they have found?

A little silk head-over thing.

Kept my face warm through winter, it was about 20 years old and I think my dad probably got it off a magazine in the first place!

Arai RX-7. Thumbs Up Top Banana

Dainese Jacket and Jeans. Thumbs Up Been down the road and still going strong.

Daytona GTX boots - Thumbs Up Oooh comfy and warm, wasted many years with A*'s, ripped a pair open at 30 mph.

Dainese Race summer gloves - Thumbs Up So comfy.

Klan heated inner gloves - Thumbs Up Warm hands.

A*'s GTX glove thingies, not warm enough for winter and really pinch into the pits of yer fingers. What are they for?? Thought they were winter gloves when I ordered them and cost nearly £90! Rolling Eyes Thumbs Down Waste of money.

Datatool Alarm - Thumbs Down Constant false alarms and annoying instant arming just when you don't need it.

Meta Alarm - Thumbs Up Spot on, no falsies and no arming till I say so. I must have control. Wink

I'm fairly happy with the rest of my kit. Most of it has been replaced over the years and I've learnt from experience.

I wish I hadn't bothered with my Arai lid.....

I could have had a new Shoei XR1000 for the price I paid for my Arai, and I wouldn't have had to spend any money on replacing the bloody side pods when they broke Evil or Very Mad

I have never had so much hassle with a lid ever!

Put me off Arais for good, and will be getting a new Shoei next year when my lid needs replacing

Gear

Most useful:
Clarke socket set
Multi head screwdriver
Issue of Superbike that came with free neck thingy
Scottoiler
Fog city insert

Most pointless:
Anti-rain wax stuff that doesn't keep the rain off your visor/mirrors
Scottoiler (the amount of trouble I've had with it)

AMEN TO THAT!

Bought my Arai lid (Astro J) 1 1/2 years ago. I has only been in full working order for about 3 months I estimate! The rest of the time it has the side pods taped up, to hold the visor in place.

I fixed it with new parts (after about 8 months of putting up with a bodged lid). It broke again about 1 weeks later. I could have cried. Evil or Very Mad

Taped up again now. Mad . If the fit wasn't so good, I'd have got rid long ago.

Leathers, a good fitting lid, and decent gloves are the best bit of biking gear.
