I've been wearing a different set of boots, they're a little bit more chunky than my old ones.
But I keep missing my gears when using the clutch. Especially going from 1 to 2, I keep landing on N.
It hasn't happened when clutchless shifting.

I wondered.. can I adjust the gear lever so it requires less travel? Or would I need after market rear sets to do that?

Bike is a 2004 CBR 600 F

As above, adjust the linkage to give you the best lever position. However, give it a quick soak with penetrating oil before you try to adjust it - the link rod threads have a nasty habit of seizing in the ends.

I went from a pair of boots that felt like slippers to new RST slightly sporty type.
Had the same problems with changing gears.
You can try changing things to suit but my issue just went away over a short period of time.

I recall going from 'slippers' to chunkier boots too with similar results.
Like Recman I adjusted to it and it was cheaper and easier than making any modifications.

What if you did do the mods and changed boots again?

Then you'd take 2 minutes to adjust them again...

Too many 'what if' and 'why would you' from you recently sir... you must be getting on a bit Wink

This is why I use trainers, specifically skate shoes. So much more feeling in your feet Laughing

Thank you.

I'll get my spanners out Smile

And as Paddy says.. I can always change them back if I change boots again. Although.. my last boots lasted longer than 4 bikes. I would keep wearing them if the peg on left didn't keep popping in from underneath to say hello to my socks Laughing
