Bollocks. You could not run a TZR250 race bike at 60:1 and expect it not so seize. I think i'll stick with the ratio's several expert tuners and hundreds of other racers told me to use, rather than your $30 spreadsheet thanks. There's a good reason it never seized, I see that as the aim, not trying to lean out oil to make it blow up.
By the way, a TZR250 is a multi-cylinder road race engine. As a 2 stroke expert, I thought you may have known this. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

This is where you're cocking this up. Like I've already said, your ratios are for Motocross riding, where short burts of throttle are the norm, not for road and road race, where constant long periods of high revs are used.
This isn't a dirt bike forum, so you're barking up the wrong tree. It's quite common for MotoX engines to run 50:1, but road race engines will mix closer to 30:1.
Your poor advice, if followed by many on here, would result in a knackered engine. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

How does my oil ratio calculator work? It uses the oils viscosity in combination with the change on it that the estimated upper cylinder temp (estimated by max RPM and type of cylinder cooling) causes and figures out a ratio that results in a target diluted viscosity (diluted by gasoline). This ratio is usually very close to what oil manufacturers recommend.
“Viscosity is the single most important physical property of a lubricant. It is a crude measure of a lubricant's molecular constitution from the standpoint of hydrocarbon chain size. Viscosity determines film thickness and film strength.” https://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/28956/lubricant-viscosity-index
“Viscosity of a fluid is a measure of its resistance to gradual deformation by shear stress or tensile stress.” https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/dynamic-absolute-kinematic-viscosity-d_412.html
“Viscosity is very important because it affects the oil's ability to reduce friction and transfer heat.”
https://www.oilspecifications.org/articles/what-is-viscosity.php
“An oils first line of defense is its viscosity. The ability of the oil film to prevent contact between the rings and the cylinder is a function of an oils viscosity. Generally speaking, the more viscous or thicker an oil, the greater load it will carry.”

| Jaguar wrote: | Do you not worry about plug fouling and spooge from using too much synthetic oil? You should. Better yet do something about it and use the correct ratio. |
| Jaguar wrote: | Examples of my calculators trueness:
fully synthetic oil:
Motul recommends their 800 Off Road be used at 50:1 and my calculator shows its ratio to be 51:1 for a water cooled engine reving to 12,000 RPM.
I choose 12,000 for extreme use because that is what a modern 125cc revs to. And the oil manufacturers usually recommend a racing oil at a ratio that will protect an extreme motocross engine such as a 125cc.
synthetic/mineral blends:
Golden SX2 is recommended at 32:1 and my calculator shows that same ratio for a water cooled engine up to 12000 RPM.
Golden Spectro is recommended at 42:1 and my calculator shows exactly that for a water cooled engine up to 12000 RPM.
mineral oil:
Spectro 2T is not advertised as a racing oil but something that can be used in oil injector systems so we can say it is for up to 10,000 RPM at the recommended ratio of 32:1 which is exactly what my calculator shows for it at 10,000 RPM. |

Nooby, what my program suggests is way way less likely to screw things up than what the oil bottle suggests which is usually 20:1 to 50:1 (take your pick).
I think some of you dirt bikers have fallen on your head too many times. I already showed you how my software is right on the money. do you also ask your mommy to hold your hand when you cross the street? oh, after she guarantees that you won't get run over. That guarantee is all important.
sorry ya'll. I'm a nice guy till people stretch me to my breaking point with stupid shit. I'm too old for nonsense. This post isn't even about the software I sell. It is about the free oil ratio spreadsheet. What spam? jeesh god all-fucking-mighty |

Has OP discovered women and wine yet? Maybe when you do you'll stop thinking far, far too much about oil and just start topping
your engines up with it like normal people do. I'm no expert, but all this long winded and frankly boring oil bollocks seems like
pure, undiluted vagina repellent to me. But we would need a female opinion to confirm, if you can find one that wants to post
in this aids victim of a thread. I bet when this guy walks past a group of women the combined sound of their vaginas drying up
and snapping shut sounds like a round of applause. I'd say bore off but it's way too late for the bore bit. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

He's talking about pre-mixing oil and fuel, as on a lot of 2T race bikes without autolube.
The problem, he's facing is that his magic spreadsheet is flawed and recommends way too little oil for most road race uses. It's designed for Motocross riding, where they can run leaner oil ratios because the riding style is short bursts of throttle, not flat out for long periods of time.
Like almost everyone else, I run 30:1 on my old YPM bike. There is no way it would complete a race with half that oil in the pre-mix. Even at 30:1 that's not over oiled, at 60:1 it would seize up within a few laps. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.
