Hi guys!
I'm having some troubles with my Ps 125i
I had about 50mph, the engine started to make a ...gurgling sound, and lost all acceleration. When bike stopped, engine stopped, then gone.

If I try to start it, it makes a sound, but ... smoother. Dunno how to explain... Smile
Nothing on the exhaust, can't feel an actual compression of the engine.
Took the spark out, burned it, cleaned it with metal brush, no change.

My next step will be to check the gas pump tomorrow, if not, maybe injector?

Any advice? Thoughts?

All help is appreciated Smile

Thank you!

Check for spark, fuel and compression. One of those will be missing.

Also check oil ! Low oil kills more engines than anything else!

mmmmm cmsnl dont seem to list this thing but after a little research its a liquid cooled ohc 125 injection scooter type thing.......

Can you get a manual for it??

Basics as said, fuel, compression and ignition.

Yopu say you cannot feel any compression??

Is it electric start only??

How good are you with mechanicals and do you have some basic tools??

you may be a girl but don't let that stop you.

A basic no tools compression check would be, remove plug ( you know haow to do that ) kill ign, place finger ( its a small c type plug right ) over plug hole and whizz the engine over. You should feel compression and if good your finger will be blown off the plug hole ( depends how hard you push your finger over the hole ) and your finger may get hot?!

do this on a clod engine.

If you dont fancy using your finger, a suitable round bit of wood with a tapered end for the plug hole, else but/get/borrow and compression tester.

report back when compression tested. there is fuel in the tank?( even blokes get that one wrong sometimes )

some pictures would be good and how was the plug firing end when you removed it??

Hi guys! Thank you for your replies!

So, I did about 1900-2000 miles, I have it for 2 months. Previous owner says oil was changed about 200 miles before, so 2200 miles on the oil shouldn't be too much, but I had a doubt too, so I will have a look today
(he's a close friend, wouldn't lie about it)

3 miles before the engine stopped I had about half tank of gas, so Ive added another 2.5L (full).

The spark plug was fine. To be honest, haven't checked before cleaning it, but after was fine and still no difference on the engine

I ...HAD some knowledge about it, changed the piston, segments on few scooters, had a Kawasaki zx4r...
But there's like 5 years since I've touched a bike/scooter, and probably 8-10 years from my last repair
Im trying to remember, HAHA

Compression: Checked with finger when I cleaned the spark plug, and .. nope, didn't push the finger. Very low. But when the engine was running, the scooter had a lot of power, front suspension was lifting when accelerating, even 3-4 miles before - Do segments wear off so easily?

Yes, it's electric start only.
Battery also seemed fine, never had issues, easy start in the morning. OK, it was spinning a bit more in the morning, probably 2-3 seconds in cold mornings before engine starts, but that should be normal

I'll start working on it in about 2 hours. Will check the oil, spark plug and compression (again - was very tired on first attempt)

Would the engine run for 3 miles if gas was mixed or poor quality? I believe its mixing way faster with the previous half

over 2200 miles since last oil change......engine is toast.....

Oil should be changwed every 800 - 1000 miles

How do I know?

I have worked on like 30 of them!

From the description of turns over but sounds 'smoother' I'd suspect something has let go inside and holed a piston, no compression.
At least if turning over it hasn't seized
That might be worth repairing but consider engine swap if you can find one.
There's always a chance something quite trivial if not embarrassing has happened due to working loose, and could be an easy fix.
