Easy job?
Does the swing arm collapse when the shocks removed?
Do i need a spring compressor?

Might upgrade to a ktech at some point and id like to do it myself.

It's not particularly difficult if you have a way of supporting the bike when the shock is removed.

e.g. centre stand, or swingarm bolt stand (like ABBA, NWS etc)

You might want to consider greasing your shock linkage while you're at it though.

A friend to help makes it easier, but perfectly possible to do alone if you have an appropriate stand.

Some are easier than others. Some bikes with single-side swingarms can be a total sod, for example VFR750s are near impossible until you find out that you need to remove the battery and undo a special hatch in the bottom of the battery box to lift it out through.

If rust is the only issue, and you are happy with the handling, then you might as well just keep it on there. You could perhaps paint the spring to clean it up.

Of course if this is dangerous corrosion then definitely get it replaced.
