Any good sources for parts (inner 19 &/or 7x7, outer, nipples, fittings etc.)? Ebay? Venhill? Somewhere else?

Vehicle wiring products do a fair few cable parts.

As above, but get some tinmans and bakers fluid, also a really good wire cutter and soldering iron, old school.........

Remember its the inner cable "mushroom" and solder that hold the inner in the nipple, not just the solder.

I've started doing it by dipping them in flux then a solder pot rather than using a soldering iron.

I used Laco flux and cut the inner on a bench grinder (tie it with thin copper wire before cutting), and a gas flame, carefully, for heat since it's only a throttle cable. I didn't have the correct nipples at the weekend, so made one from a scrap of brass (1mm drill forthe cable, 4mm for the burred end). I like Laco flux, it's pH neutral and washes off easily.
