The recipe is.... 85% water 10% sugar and 5% detergent.

Ive been experimenting on and off for ages and finally landed on this mix. Recovering from a hernia op so not able to test on the bike but my tests on the bathroom mirror and my old helmet visor indoors have worked with this mix. The water is just a medium but its the sugar which has the hydrophilic properties that prevent misting and the detergent wets out the water/sugar mix.

Cheers

Tried several brands of shaving foam and nowhere near as good as the sugar. Detergants do work to a degree as a detergant is hydrophilic but the sugar is far better. Try it its cheao enough.

So practically will this sit as a spray in an old kitchen cleaner squirt bottle or something?

You can get pocket sized spray bottles from superdrug.

Spray on, polish dry with tissue.

How good is the mix for dry days?
I'm wondering if it will attract dust. Yes you're wiping it dry but will dust stick to the layer??

I can see the chemistry angle, but I wonder how reversible this will be and for how long? The sugar will, indeed, absorb water but unless you force dry it this will likely be a one-time thing and it will probably sit there quietly deliquescing even when you are not wearing it.

Have you tried different sugars, or just sucrose? How about salts? And also, is the film that you apply visually transparent?

Just ordinary granulated white sugar dissolved in tap water. Im sure the recipe could be refined using distilled water etc

The detergant element seems the worse for visibility issues. I think I could probably reduce the % of detergant as its simply there to help wetting out the mix. I suspect the handwash i used may have some salt in it anyway. Is there a more pure detergant I could use, do you know?

I think degradatuon of wipe/spray on anti mist solutions is a problem with commetcial ones so i suspect my mix will also not be permanent. However it is cheaper.

Nobody has to. I suspect Terrence is powered by methane gas harvested from his own s#it. Given just how much s#ite he produces I think the chances he will shut up anytime soon are limited. Shocked

Are immigrants good for de-misting/anti-misting a visor or should I use the 3.4% unemployment solution in de-fatted H2o?
