Honda C110 clutch

Hello,
Rebuilt the complete engine around 18 months ago, on the bench, not in bike.
I ask, is there anything I should do to the clutch, could it be seized from standing ?
Would rather do it now before I put back into bike

If you have reason to suspect the clutch is worn out then by all means strip it down. Worse ways you haven't totally wasted your time, soak the plates in oil for a bit and pop them back in.

It was a brand new clutch, I must admit, I did not soak it in oil before I fitted
Do you recommend to do this, and best oil

Less likely to sieze with a new clutch, from new. Disengage the clutch and try to turn the engine with the kickstart. Engine no turn, clutch no stuck.

You never want to go in dry Wink

I recommend KY-Jelly using the same oil you were gonna fill the bike with.

Does this bike not have the “primary kickstart” that means you can kickstart start it in gear with the clutch lever pulled in?

Some old Japanese bikes did, anyway.

No you don't. If you fitted new plates then fit the engine, fill with oil and go ride the bike.

The last set of ebc plates I fitted had 'soak in oil before fitting' in the instructions from the manufacturer.

Perhaps because that's what people expect to see? I never had such instructions with clutch packs for my Hayabusa.

Can't see them stopping production lines to soak the plates in oil. Or taking the time to clean up the mess from dripping oil on all the following operations.

Okay, let's put it another way: will a drop of oil on the plates help or hinder?

Manufacturers rarely put copper grease on any bolts they torque up... which you discover many moons later when you want to do your swing arm or something Neutral
