 Posted: 09:20 - 15 Apr 2020 Post subject: Selling my scoot |
 |
|
Morning all,
Im currently selling my current bike, my old car wants a bit too much spending on it, i did order a replacement from a dealer but it closed for the virus a day before i was due to collect and as im working from home i dont need the scoot besides the car was a lot of cash and its one or the other really.
As its a large sum how do i make a bill of sale that protects me?, in case someone takes it, messes with it and tries to say its faulty, yes im not that trusting, apparently someone from down south is interested but wants me to send an image of the V5?, do i put anything specific in the bill of sale? And is bank transfer the safest way?
any help appreciated

Seeing a copy of the V5 is fine, but I would blank out the reference number, and, possibly your address if you're that concerned to begin with. Ultimately though, if you're that paranoid, you may feel safer going through something like we buy any bike, providing they want your make & model of scoot, or, failing that selling to a dealer, both of those options are likely to mean you get less money for it though. ____________________ Beware what photos you upload, or link to on here, especially if you have family members on them |

Thanks, it was through my daughters facebook marketplace as i dont do any of that, my daughter gave him my number but no sign of a call yet.
Bikes fine, a few marks but thats reflected in the price, but London seems a long way to come for a common scoot.
we will see what happens. ____________________ 07 Yamaha YBR125, 07 Honda CG125 , 15 CBR300R (Chocolate Crank, Deaded), 16 CB500FA, 19 Honda Forza 300, 70 Suzuki SV650 |

Quite often I've had hand scrawled notes, possibly in crayon, saying "sold: 1 car, reg X123 XYZ..." so I've taken to making up a nice looking certificate whenever I sell anything. All the relevant detail spots are there (to remind me to fill it all in properly) and also lets me have a whole load of fine print at the bottom ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
