Speedfight 3 50cc issues!

Ok here it goes abit of a long story!
I brought a speedfight 3 for my boy last year, his previous bike was written off so I had to replace it! The bike was cheap and now I know why 😂! It was originally spluttering and then cutting out and irregular revs! We put a new carb, new reeds and there was a split in the airborne which was repaired! The bike ran you a day! But hit full revs without using the throttle! Then wouldn’t start! We got it started But it constantly revs to the maximum! I am scratching my head as to understand why! Can anyone please help me before I accidently poor petrol over it it and flick a match at it 😂😂! The previous owner changed the rollers and put a sports clutch in! Not sure if that has something to do with the issues! Any help or suggestions gratefully received!

Sounds like the throttle sticking or being held open.

The clutch and the roller change are pretty much irrelevant (and also probably unhelpful; not bad, just of no "performance" use whatever).

If the throttle was closing it should not go to max revs.

If it revs up it should be trying to move off and should not immediately get to max revs.

Which carb is it?
Does the throttle cable enter the top of the carb or does it work at the side?

It's a speedfight for pity's sake. It really bugs me that people call it a damn speedfighter. I don't know why that bugs me so much but it does.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I know this might sound a bit out there but is the throttle slide the right way round , this could cause what your saying.

is the throttle slide fitted correctly. throttle slide screw in to far.faulty choke

Just to note the SPEEDFIGHT” “😂” has been started without the throttle cable attached! And it still high revs! So it’s not a Sticky cable

You still haven't said whether or hot the throttle is sticking. If there's a slice in the carb, check that and that it's assembled properly (as others have said).

Forgot to mention that it was running fine! But when I gave it a long test run! A few days after the carb was fitted, It kept revving high when stationary! But only for a few seconds, then ticked over fine! Then when I dropped down from Full speed After about 10 minutes of riding that’s when the maximum rev kicked in! It popped off the lubricant pipe as well! Which I thought was strange as they are a tight fit in the carb!

I thought the auto choke needed connection for it to work and come off providing it works !

Thanks! Will try and strip the carb down again and have a look! Something is defiantly wrong! And is frustrating!

Just seems strange that it was working for a day then didn’t after about 15 mins or so 🤔
