a mate of mine has just got one of these but he cant ride it till january... anyway he thinks it is faster than my RS125
I was wondering if anyone knows the top speed of these bikes? I didnt think they were terribly fast concidering the fact that they are scramblers...
I was thinking the acceleration would be quite good but top end speed? |

Hi
Found a bit online:-
https://www.bikez.com/bike/index.php?bike=140
Top speed is given as 64.6. OK that is listed as 15hp (so presumably restricted), but then a 15hp NSR would do at least 80 (after all, 75ish true for a 12hp one).
Basically you will leave him behind, although he might be ahead for a second or 2 from a standstill (the RS has a high first gear)
All the best

Gas Gas bikes generally have a mental torque rating, and so are geared for low down power...you will definately leave him behind though - 'cos he'll either have to feed the power out gently, or pick himself up after doing a 180 degree wheelie (G-Stylee) ____________________ TiN

I believe gas gas now do road going *trail* bikes as well, if not then my answer up ^there^ is compeltly wrong.
Just googled.. and yes they do
The normal gas gas is a *trials* bike, which would probably have a top speed of 30ish, and be made for going up mostly |

yes i think he probably paid around the 2 grand mark he didnt tell me the exact figure but when he was looking at buying a 125 that was his spending budget.
Scramblers do look ok in my opinion but i have never really concidered them as being very good road bikes as the aerodynamics is sh*t which means at any high speed the rider gets knocked about even more by the wind than if your on a sports/tourer. Plus the riding position looks really crap, when you see people on scramblers they look silly (straight back with arms stretched out) Then again they would look even stupider trying to tuck in behind the tank |
