Sounds like something my wife would try to sneak into my spag bol without me noticing.

Thinking of sticking one of these on my Christmas list.

Anyone on here ever had one care to share your experiences? Any good? Corbin saddles appear to be more customisable for the design but Top Sellerie appear to be more customisable in terms of functionality (i.e. can select to have gel or not, heated or not etc.). Plus the Corbin website is shockingly bad, you probably have to wait for them to be shipped from USA whereas at least with Top Sellerie they only come from France. Plus Corbin appear to be around twice the price of Top Sellerie and Corbin don't offer a heated option.

So yeah, seriously considering getting one but wanted some input from you guys that may have had them before or know anyone who has. Good/bad experiences and overall satisfaction? Specifically on an FZ1 if possible but that may be a bit of an ask!

Also any Corbin users on here care to share your experiences?

Also, apparently the Top Sellerie ones can have front and rear independently heated. Anyone know if they come with the necessary wiring and/or switchgear to mount to the handlebars? I only want the front heated so was wondering if there is a way to just get it to come on when the heated grips are turned on to keep the cockpit a bit more tidy and not having another handlebar mounted switch to make things look messy.

Thanks guys!

Corbin seats tend to be on the firm side. Some might say very firm, but they are well shaped and comfortable over distance. I had a Corbin Smuggler on my 5th gen (model year 2000) VFR and put several 12+ hour days on it without complaint. My current ride is a BMW R1150R; it came with 3 seats, one being a Corbin. The Corbin is leather, and very well shaped, I like it best of the three. Problem is that it is also the lowest of the bunch, so my knees ride at a sharper angle. My knees cramp after 90 minutes ride time. If I'm going out all day, I usually swap it out for the BMW tall seat.

I bought a Top Sellerie saddle about 10 years ago I really like it. Used it for ages. A year or so back the cover started splitting. I really need to get it recovered but I just haven't bother.

I went to France on holiday earlier this tear. As I was more or less passing Sees, where Top Sellerie are based, I contacted them and ordered and paid for a seat on an exchange basis to be collected on a specific date.

Everything went really well. There were a couple of staff members who spoke fluent English. I took the seat off my bike, they fitted the new seat for me and off I went.

The rest of the ride back to Dieppe for the ferry was made in armchair comfort by comparison.

So, nice product, competitive price and good service. What's not to like?

Wow swinging by the factory sounds like a good idea if you're passing!
I am planning on going to France next summer but not sure I can wait that long. Ok looks good then. I think I'm sold. Thanks guys!

Just can't decide whether to go standard or long on the seat length.

Apparently standard has a raised bit at the back of the front rider seat to support your back/bum:

Whereas on the long version the seat goes straight all the way back and instead they have a support at the front of the rear seat:

To be honest the standard LOOKS more comfy like you're sitting IN the seat rather than ON the seat but I'm wondering if someone with an arse the size of mine would be better off with the long one Laughing

Also, do you think a raised seat as opposed to the standard seat height would have more cushioning and be more comfortable?

The standard seat looks like it will limit movement backwards. The long seat maybe less so. Your comfort may have more to do with your inseam length and your ability to stretch back on the seat. Both seats look well made and comfortable. The standard seat resembles my Corbin, and the long seat resembles the OE BMW, which suits me better on long days in the saddle.

Ok well I'm a 6ft CHUNK so you're thinking the longer seat may be the better comfort option for me?

The longer seat might be the better comfort option for you if it is taller, or if it does not restrict you from sliding back when your legs begin to cramp. Looks like it might be more comfortable, but hard to say for sure without seeing the seat installed on the bike.

I emailed TS and they advised me that a longer seat would indeed be more suitable for a tall chunky rider Embarassed

They also confirmed that a raised seat would add more foam and therefore should be more comfortable but warned me against this option saying I need to be sure I'll be comfortable with the extra height regarding being able to reach the floor etc. I don't think I'll struggle with that but will sit on my bike tomorrow just to be sure I can go another 2.5cm while still being able to reach the floor.

Only thing that did just occur to me though would a 2.5cm height increase make a noticeable different to the lean angle on my back/arms reaching the handlebars making the handlebars relatively lower than they were before like I'm reaching down to use the handlebars? Don't wanna be too hunched forwards like a super sports riding position.

Unless you are super sensitive about that sort of thing, I wouldn't worry about it. You can always get aftermarket risers if your riding position is too uncomfortable. FWIW, there is probably a 2 inch difference between my Corbin and the OE BMW tall seat. I do not sense the difference in my torso angle or pressure on my wrists with the OE seat. I do, however, notice the relief in my knee joints.
