1986 honda shadow v700 no spark

No spark
Checked magnetic coils per manual and where below resistance values. Replaced with used coils that were within specs but came from a Pacifica that had similar specs. No spark. Need to check if ecm is working or not, looking but one found shop in Australia that can test and sell you a replacement or repair yours if it fails.
Is it possible to convert coils and ecm to different models since ecm for this 86 is almost impossible to find??

Is it a V or a VT?

If it's a VT engine there is a high probablility you could get away with using an ecu off a VT500, BROS650, BROS400, XLV750R, NTV600, NTV650, Africa twin etc. but although they may work after a little modification to the wiring looms they won't be perfect.

I think there is a variation in these bikes in that some used a dual pick up and some a single pick up so it will require some investigation but they are all pretty much the same engine.

correction, feel dumb, but here it goes, did a vin check on it and it is a 1988 Vt600

So then, I should be able to locate some parts from another honda 600 and with some mods be able to fit the pickups and ECM//??
