Hi, I'm new to this forum and I was wondering, how to make my 2020 Znen ZN50QT-34 (F11) 139QMB 50cc 4-stroke scooter faster?
I don't really want to put a big bore kit on it, cuz it's kinda expensive and time consuming. The scooter is stock and has all factory restrictors on it, which make it go 53 km/h.

Put it in the back of a van.

Drill 40kg of weight out of the frame.

Here is a good example of creating more space for airflow near the headstock:

Err.... remove all some of the factory restrictors.

Lets face it, you're not gonna do much with 50cc.

Before you flounce, might as well give the honest answer and the hard truth.

Hard truth = doing any kind of engine modification will do nothing to increase power after you've removed the factory restriction(s).

Honest answer = removing weight to improve your power to weight ratio is the only option. Go on a diet.

Remove restrictions first, won't make much difference though.

After that the only answer is a big bore kit. Unless you are a total spaz you can fit this in an afternoon https://ebay.us/oqFLJg

If you're 17+ why the hell did you buy a 50????
50's are shite dont waste time and money it

If you're 16 live with it until you're 17
Meanwhile use that time wisely practising all the things that keep you alive on two wheels
then get a 125

Yeah but what's the best way to make the van faster? Put it in a bigger van, or take the scooter out of it?

What a convenient name they've given it. Laughing

Anyway... the easiest and cheapest way to go faster is to sell your Znen thing and use the money to buy something that's faster.

As all of the above. Don't bother trying to make it faster. - it's simply not worth it Remember it's not just the power either, the transmission needs to be able to deal with it and the brakes need to be able to haul you down from a high speed. That's assuming straight lines; introduce corners and the increased speeds (even just slightly increased) would probably test the capability of the suspension too.

It's far easier to simply buy something faster with all of these requirements designed in already.

In my country you can get a 125cc license when you're 16. I'm planning on doing it, when I turn 16.

A year might seem like an eternity and granted a 50cc scooter won't make that fly by, figuratively or literally, but what are the penalties in your locality if stopped by the police doing over 45kph on such a scooter?

tl;dr is it worth it?

Ahh !
I assumed you were here in the UK

OK, the above still applies though, just wait until you're 16.
learning to keep it well serviced and in optimal condition would also be good practise.

I think it's worth it. If you go over 85 km/h, they can take away your license, but I live in a rural area, so there are not many cops. I want to make my scooter accelerate faster. After 20 km/h it's quite fast, but it stops at 53 km/h.

If the Znen is anything like the other Chinese horrors I have seen, e.g. Baotian, then the 125 versions use the same brakes and suspension as the 50cc jobs. Even if he puts an 80cc kit on, it will only be going from probably 4 to 6BHP so it'll be nothing worth losing sleep over.

OP - these Chinese 4-stroke peds are usually only restricted by their abject lack of power, but if it has been nobbled it'll most likely have a washer tack welded into the neck of the exhaust or a ring in the variator that stops it from opening fully. Have a read of this:

https://www.tuningmatters.com/how-tos/beginners-guides/derestrict-50cc-scooter/

I would go the route of throwing a cheap top end kit on as suggested earlier... it might run just fine with the stock carb, but be prepared to do some re-jetting if it doesn't.

I was planning on swapping out the transmission, exhaust, and air filter and maybe changing the jets aswell, so I can get the best performance out of the scooter. At first I didn't want to put a big bore kit on it, because I thought it meant taking out the engine and changing out the crankshaft. I don't know a lot about scooters, because I am more used to older mopeds and motorcycles.

I have no idea what the second hand market is like in Latvia but over here no one wants modified stuff. Especially learners parents. Laughing

I would say don't do anything you can't reverse when you come to trade it/sell it when getting you big boys bike or you will be left with a pile of pretty valueless metal.

How fast would it go with a 72cc kit on it? Do I have to replace the head, or can I use the original one? The scooter is pretty new, it has 1100 km.
I just want the bike to go around 70-80 km/h and accelerate a lot faster, because right now it sucks ass.
