Anyone in Luton or nearby got a chain splitter?

Can't bring myself to spend 40+ quid on a splitter I'll use once in a blue moon.

A splitter doesn't put a chain on either, it's just mullers the old one off

Put the chain on by hand, push the rivet through and hit it with a hammer type object until it's in as much as you can get it. Then ride the bike gently to the nearest bike shop, be worth phoning them before before hand just to check that they'll be able to finish putting the new chain on (won't take long at all). Small amount of cash/beer or free if you're lucky.

Did that on my ZX6R quite happily with what must have been about 4 or 5 miles ride to the bike shop.

Don't risk it if it comes off the damage can be very costly especially
if you eat tarmac.

I just changed my chain and sprockets on me Gixxer easiest way is forget about the splitter they don't work to well anyway

just find the rivet link (its obvious which one it is as it doesn't have nice pressed rivets) grind the heads flush with the plate and then using a BIG flat blade screwdriver jam it through the back of the plate and wack the driver with a copper mallet , Job done

use a split link of good quality it will be fine , we used to race top fuel drag bikes with split links no problem but if you want it rivetted then take it to your friendly bike shop and get it riv linked.
