Hello
I am an owner of a KLE500 (approx. 1991) and I found an unknown part near the battery - directly in the wiring harness. Does any one know what this could be and where I can buy a spare part?

Thanks for your help!

I reckon it's a flasher unit.

Thanks for your reply. But isn't it too small for a flasher unit? Also the connection terminals look different on a flasher unit...

Could be a rectifier if the 2006 kle is anything to go by.

It's common to a lot of dirt oriented kwaks, which is how I know what it is.

Thanks for your replies. Btw my KLE is an 1993 one.. Smile

I have the problem, that my battery is drawn when the motorcycle is off. I replaced the battery, generator and the rectifier but nothing solved the problem. I also checked cables and other electric assemblies. Nothing helped...
So my mechanic meant that I should replace this diode. He said it could be damaged and allows a little current flow in the wrong direction. So my battery could be drawn.

My question: can this be the cause of my problem. And is there a way to measure the diode to prove if it is damaged??

Thanks for your help!!

Get an exact wiring diagram for your bike and study it....

Is it a blocking diode in the electric starter circuit/system ?

A digital multimeter has a diode test function usually...

as said a diode but not for charging it is part of the starting/safety system allows the bike to start with the clutch in but in gear I think
Any 5amp 20volt diode will do with two male 1/4" spades

A digital multimeter usually has an ammeter function as well so you can/could measure the "leak" and go from there...

Has an alarm system been fitted to the bike...

Get an exact wiring diagram and study... else get dizzy...
