How??!!
I've got a bolt on the footrest hanger which is loosened off using an Alum key but it's done and won't come lose.
I've also got 2 screws on the mudguard (star shape) that also won't budge. Any tips??? ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

Wd-40 good to start with.
There is a trick where you go to tighten first (this is supposed to crack loose any gunge/rust) before undoing.
Use good quality allen keys. Or get the bits to fit into a ratchet set (more leverage).
The star shaped ones will need a TORQ (or is that torx) set.
If you haven't got then the bits can be got from the likes of B&Q, Halfords, etc to put into a ratchet.
If WD-40 fails get an impact driver onto it.

You can also try tapping the head of the bolt/screw firmly with a hammer, as this can also sometimes break the seal. ____________________ "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." Hunter S Thompson

If you're worried about chewing up Philips head screws trying to undo them, a tip I'd give is to use a straight bladed screwdriver instead. That and squirting it with 3 in 1 penetrating oil and leaving overnight - it helps, but not always. Being able to use a ratchet to undo them is pretty useful too. ____________________ I must not be a troll...
