Anyone tried / own one of these? the 401 or the 701? What are your thoughts?

I'd never heard of those bikes and didn't know they were Husqvarna.

I woud say ugly buggers. Laughing I presume they are built in China or somewhere else cheap.

So, sorry, no help whatsoever.

hehe! all opinions count! i quite like how they look and i'm thinking about the 401 as a sort of urban trendy foil to my Tiger - the odd commute, bike caff trip, that sort of thing

Nope, and are seriously high build quality in the flesh.

I have the 701 supermoto and love it. Husky are really high quality bikes.

It's a KTM. The 401 is made in India and the 701 is supposed to be made in KTM facilities in Austria. Thumbs Up

That being said, the ''KTM original'' is slightly more affordable than the ''Husqvarna stickers one''.

It’s more than stickers.
Think of the Husky as the six days version of the KTM but in white, with extras.

I normally try not to let looks influence my views of what's a good or bad bike - I don't normally succeed. And in this particular case I fail spectacularly. Both those bikes are fvcking disgusting. I think this current era (2005 onwards, roughly speaking) has seen the ugliest bikes in the history of motorcycle manufacture - beating even the 1980s. And these two Husqvarnas are comically dire.

Clearly they have learnt from their older highly strung grenades on wheels and tuned them down a little Laughing

I don't like the look of them at all, but the supermoto does raise my pickle.

I saw the white one at Super Sausage and I quite liked it. They look better in the flesh. Might have been the 250 or the 401 I have a picture
somewhere..

It's a bit like a Golf versus an A3. Essentially the same car but the latter being a bit nicer.

I like the look of them personally, but definitely one for people who want to stand out and don't mind that involving some compromises (a bit like the CCM Spitfire). I saw a 401 vitpilen in the flesh at a big dealership and -

a) It's tiny, but still managed to stand out in a dealership full of bikes.
b) Really looks very high quality up close. It has that thing (a bit like MVs) where it seemed like each part had been lovingly designed and isn't just a parts bin special (even though that's exactly what it is, really).
c) It looks incredibly uncomfortable and totally impractical.

the white one looks like something someone might do to a 1990s CB500 - go mental with an angle grinder, trying to destroy all links with the original machine, and end up creating something that we would all howl with laughter at if it ended up on the ebay's worst bikes thread.
