One of my exes is in hospital.
It's very weird when they're an ex and a bit of a knob - but you still quite like them.
You don't want them to actually die just yet - but its odd that you don't care as much as you might have done back when you were an item.

Went to the Stafford Classic Bike Show last weekend. Popped into the pub on site on the Saturday night for what we thought would be an evening of heavy metal, chicken rape and wheelies. Took one look, turned around and left, as it looked like they were setting up for Bingo instead! Whatever happened to the fun part of biking? Sad

you could have been expecting too much of the 'Classic Bike Show' demographic... Confused If you can muster the energy I hear the elephant rally can still be quite raucous.

The thing is, I am firmly within that demographic i.e. late 50s, bearded, slightly portly with a penchant for wax cotton. Perhaps I need to mature?

As a result of falling off my chair just before Easter I now have excruciating back pain every morning when I wake up, accompanied by the occasional occipital headache.

I manage to survive the day by rubbing either Tiger Balm or uddermint on my back when I get up and then several doses of paracetamol a day - so I have lined myself up for some physio with Occ Health.

Did a workstation assessment also, blah blah.

I was a tad worried about a little bit of blurry vision on the left that I hadn't noticed before, but it turns out that's just the start of a cataract and nothing to do with my head-banging exercise Brick Wall Laughing

Whatever can you mean? I haven't been on Mumsnet for centuries.
The last time I was there, I think I was deleted simply for being associated with BCF Laughing

Had a really weird interaction with an NPC today. Was filling up at the Tesco petrol station and while I was still pumping a guy walked past me and pointed to a puddle of petrol on the ground and said something along the lines of "you'd never think petrol was expensive" and I did a fake chuckle as he went on into the kiosk to pay.

I went in after filling and paid and came out and he was standing at his car looking at the bike, I thought he was just basking in the glory of the Chinese 125 and I got back on the bike and started it up. He then came over and said "wait aren't you going to wipe that up?" and pointed at the puddle of petrol on the ground and I said "nah I didn't do it mate" and he just stood there awkwardly pointing at it for another few seconds in silence before I was like fuck this I'm off and rode away.

Was extra awkward as I had to ride around the back of the kiosk then turn right to go back to the roundabout to the main road and he stood at the fucking puddle pointing at it as I rode past on the main road a good 10 - 15 seconds after I had initially rode off.

Did I just cause an NPC to have a runtime error, 404 crash or something? Have I now been hexxed and cursed?

This doesn't track. Petrol evaporates quickly... are you sure you didn't spill it?

I'm not sure, it was definitely oily though as it had that multicoloured rainbow streaked surface colour. The bloke called it petrol, it looked oily so I assume it was petrol.

Petrol doesn't look like that when it spills. Diesel does though, and it's very dangerous to us 2 wheeled types. Don't ride through it, and it should be cleaned up. You should probably have reported it to the staff at the petrol station.

If it was diesel you'd probably smell it - same with petrol. It was probably just a puddle of water with a drop of oil or two floating on the surface. A tiny amount of oil spread a molecule thick goes a long way.
