That describes most of the UK charts for the last 50 years (with some exceptions) as far as I'm concerned.

Government phone numbers. Been trying to call the PIP to let them know I haven't filled in their forms yet and
need an extension on the must submit by date. I exaggerate not when I say that I've had 14 calls just cut off on me
today mid call, but not straight away, no it's been after 3 to 7 minutes variable of press 2 for blah blah blah, press
6 for blah blah, typing birthdates in on keypad etc then an engaged tone and the call cuts off. Because the mobile reception
is bad near my house I even got in the car and went out to a different location where the signal was better to try in
just in case it was bad reception causing the calls to drop. Nope. I had to give up before it cost me a mobile phone as
well as my final shredded nerve. Will try again tomorrow I've had enough. Evil or Very Mad

It's 44 pages of guff where even the potential prospect of free money isn't enough to concentrate my executive
function issues toward me actually accomplishing something that's for my own good and well being. They are also
due back by Sunday, even if I pulled an all nighter filling the bastards in they won't get there on time. I'm surprised
I tried as many times to call as I did today before quitting. I've been looking at the forms for two weeks and failing
to act. When all is said and done, I'm a pretty ineffectual human being.

What worked well for my mad ginger ex when confronted by those multitudinous forms was to complete the basic information once, then write what was wrong with him (including bad spelling and grammar) and then putting "You already asked me that question and I answered it on page [whatever]."

He then went on to say that part of his problem is that he gets impatient and confused by having to fill out forms and that they were making him more confused and annoyed when he has to repeat himself when he filled out a form with the exact same answers two weeks prior to that - thereby exacerbating his condition (although he never used the word "exacerbating", of course Laughing )

It certainly had a better result than when I used to fill them out and spell everything correctly for him.

Once I had moved on, having had enough of his nonsense and leaving him to fend for himself, he had the write the forms himself, and frustrating though it was for him the first couple of times, he eventually got the Benefits people to understand that filling the forms was enraging him so much he couldn't concentrate on putting the right answers in the right place, hence much repetition and occasional extensive crossings-out.

They must have been hell to read and make head or tail of, at the other end Laughing

Reasonable and mentally competent is not what you want to appear to be.
Use of purple crayon should be avoided but it *may* get your message across.

After decades of watching nature programs on telly I know what Whales eat and how long they can hold their breath, sleep, mate and how they interact with humans and other species yet I've never seen them take a dump...or if they do floaters.

TLDR; Never seen Whale shit.

The wife's dental appointment this morning, cancelled just 90 minutes before it was due because of a train strike.
Would you get away with not turning up for work because of long warned industrial transport action where you could have made alternative arrangements? Rolling Eyes

I don't think the forms are intended to put people off.
They need to be detailed and accurate to ensure the system isn't abused and also to help ensure you get the entitlement.

It's just a thing when the state diveys up tax payers money.

You may be well entitled to help but I for one would like to believe the civil service is dolling out help ONLYNto those who need it.

It an unfortunate part of that system.

But... Correctly, keep at it.

The other reasons things get messy is down to work load on staff. They are not all lazy useless bastirts. Lots of them are mind you.

Not related.
I was dealing with the local sheriff court to sort out a legal thing.
The people at the sheriff Court were uber courteous and helpful. They knew that I was as thick as shyte. But they demonstrated huge patience with my enquiries. Very Happy

I'd been busy banging my head off citizens advice for weeks without resolution. The court fixed it all for me in about 1/2 an hour.

I think the burd fancied me though. Cool
Obviously.

Pah. I can beat that... I had a dental appointment last week cancelled 40 minutes after it was actually due. By that I mean that I turned up on time, sat there waiting for 40 mins until the dentist was ready for me, at which point the receptionist informed me that sorry, I'd been cancelled because they'd just discovered that the bits they'd been waiting for from the lab for me hadn't actually arrived Evil or Very Mad

Slight aside, but I always try to get my dental appointments at two-thirty for the dad joke points.

Managed to get through today, was on the phone on hold at 9am and the call was finally taken after 47 minutes of
"All our operators are busy" etc on an endless loop. Ignored the urge to hang up thankfully. Extension granted and
I now have another two weeks to get these forms filled in.

Have you been to Flowers Hill, where the medicals are done? You wouldnt stand out in the Muccy D's opposite dressed as daft001 suggests even at the weekend when they aren't doing medicals.

Tried to grow grass from seed in a tray of compost, as I’ve done before, to then plug gaps in the lawn. Even in that ideal growing condition it looks like only about 10% germinated. Where’s the rest!?
