With regards to the medication issue...

In all seriousness I'm seeing this mentioned also in the psychology forums, with regards to ADHD drugs Thinking

My old mum can't get her Ozempic diabetes meds either. I think it's because vain, self obsessed tarts are using up
all the supplies to lose weight rather than put any effort into being slimmer by more natural means.

Car parking apps. I rolled up at the train station recently with a centre-console full of change, only to find they’d switched to app-only. It took 15 minutes to register and pay. Then today another parking ‘provider’ in Cambridge city centre and multiple attempts to pay, finally successful with 10% battery, but another dodgy company now has my payment details.

On the flip-side I’ve made several ‘collection-only’ sales of clutter on Facebook Marketplace recently where cash is king.

Yeah they can be a fucker to get hold of: different doses, always running out Rolling Eyes

I get stressed-out patients giving me verbal and I'm like "Look, I don't dispense the feckin things. He wrote you the prescription, your problem is with the pharmacy for running out." Brick Wall Brick Wall I'm not a pharmacist, I can't do anything about it, except give them the pharmacy telephone number to call themselves Brick Wall Brick Wall

You can open up the capsules - you've just got to gently squeeze and wiggle them apart. I can't take a whole one, it drives me too crazy - so I split them - I usually do it over a wine glass in case some of it spills - then I just sort of divide it into equal amounts with a teaspoon, leave half in the glass for another day.

Or you could do the time-tested "open it on a bit of paper and use your credit card" routine ... Shifty Laughing

Just save the rest of it somewhere it can't be knocked over or accidentally washed out. In my case I'm the only one in my house, so nobody's likely to use the glass, but I leave the sections of the capsule in the glass to stop the cleaning lady from washing it up, and to remind myself what's in there Laughing

Shocked Shocked
That's got to be a direct road to pancreatic ruin than just eating less shite.

My sister reckons she uses her diabetes meds for that purpose too, so naturally I went garrity, but she wouldn't listen; I just thought Fine, one less fuckwit to worry about in my life when you die horribly of insulin malfunction Rolling Eyes

I hate car parking which doesn't accept money, or any place for that matter.

This week in "I almost took some c*nt out" one Addison Lee mini-cab driver pulled out of a junction and at no point did he look right. Then there was 3 (three!) cyclists wafting about in random directions. Not indicating not overtaking anyone, not looking right, not looking behind just... clueless.

Cyclists are c*nts. Obviously not all of them, just most of 'em Sad

Crappy online e-learning courses for work. Very simple, gives you 10 minutes to do a 3 minute exercise, but you have to take 9 minutes or more, or the 30 minute one that takes 15 minutes but doesn't register because you have done it in 15 minutes, or the modules that you do, but they don't register when you have completed them. Utter shite, I've done the same courses at least 4 times in the last 10 days, but all are saying incomplete or not started. Basics and simpleton stuff that is insulting to do, but you still have to do them to tick a box.

So much feeling that today. I'm having to do a re-validation course for TB testing which I have to do every 4 years. It's a tedious job anyway and I've been doing it for 23 years now. There really is nothing new to learn but you have to sit through all the modules in it every time or it doesn't tick the box. It counts as an 8 hour course which costs the business £115 every time as well as the time I spend doing it.

As far as I can see, it looks like it is exactly the same as it was last time I did it which only adds to the tedium. This may play into my hands though because you have to submit "scenario" exercises at the end which take ages (and which are bounced back if your word count isn't high enough). If these are the same, I still have the answers I submitted last time on file and I WILL re-submit them verbatim. I may even just strikethrough the date and put todays date to reflect a similar amount of effort as they put into the course design.

I work for a company that is owned by another company (which broadly sits in a different industry to mine but had a brain fart a number of years ago and bought up a load of video/telly based businesses) and that larger company has been done for Bribery in the US and also in the middle east a couple of times. As a result we have to do bribery and corruption training approximately every 3 months, and each go around it's a different little badly acted video made by a different production company. Sometimes the 'test your knowledge' section has badly worded questions with ambiguous answers, which is annoying but you can do the course as many times as you like so it's not a disaster. However, this last go around they asked questions based on the names of the characters in the dumb little drama - After all of it I was like "Who the F*ck is Lena? And which one was Bob?"

Like "Did Lena's referral of a consultant to the company cause a conflict of interest?" But which one? There were two middle aged middle manager women who did the same thing, and one did it in a bad way and one did it in a good way? Which one was called Lena for pity's sake?"

Classic *insert name of parent company here*.

Yes, the scenarios were exactly the same as last time. Filename duly changed and answers uploaded. If you are going to make me do exactly the same course with exactly the same content as 4 years ago and ask me exactly the same questions at the end of it. Don't be surprised when I give you exactly the same answers.

I do not feel this delivered value for money for the practice. Although I feel all parties are gracing this CPD obligation with an equal level of effort and enthusiasm.

"Read this, we might ask questions later" would be sufficient but then what we would do with all the Media Studies graduates?

My inability to relax and do nothing. On monday for the first time in my adult life I found myself not PAYE, a Director nor 'self employed'. In effect I had become unemployed. Great, my Mrs thought - time to sort those jobs around the house that desperately need doing, plus me to be the cooking/cleaning bitch for a few weeks.

After grumping around for a couple of days I and she now realise that I have to work, because without work I am a miserable, fratchy bastard. I rejoin the rat-race at 09.00 on Monday morning... Rolling Eyes

That would be more effort that they seem to expect. Although we did post the worked example questions directly into chat GPT when someone else was doing this course and it nailed about 50% of them with no real need to edit the response. On the others it misunderstood and was way off the mark.

Little narcissists getting away with playing the victim. Lucky me is getting investigated because the little shit isn't man enough. When I bring up issues that prove that the little shit is the instigator apparently they don't matter and are history. History builds the picture up of a person. Work are worried that I may kick the shit out of the cunt. Ha!
