So it's not so much lack of Britishness you dislike as a lack of Englishness?

Salmond is the second of the Obnoxious Politicians I picked up whilst minicabbing.
Top of my list was N.Farage. Laughing

His demise doesn't warrant space in this thread.

I see the media this morning are well into the 'what a good guy he was' phase of reporting his death. They even paraded his best mate from school and his dance teacher for nice comments. A cynic might sumise that in the background they are also digging up dirt, ready for the ok for the 'character assassination' that will undoubtably follow.

Bless....

Geoff Capes, still the British shot put record holder, two-time world's strongest man, has died aged 75. Budgerigar enthusiast (like James Hunt), former copper, seemed like a nice man and I recall being astonished when he beat a footballer in a cycling race in a late ‘70s/early ‘80s episode of Superstars on telly. RIP.

Although if you look in the mirror and say his name 3 times he might come back!

Lightning fast reactions for someone I believe was 63 at that time. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the first time he will have eacted in that manner - pretty awesome TBF. See how quickly his right hand was out of the pocket for the follow-up to his left hand jab.

Vic Flick (87) one of the most famous guitarists you've never heard of.

Played for dozens of artists from the 60s onwards, including Tom Jones (It's Not Unusual) Peter & Gordon (World Without Love) Herman's Hermits (Silhouettes) and Petula Clark (Downtown).

Achieved global superstar status for the original recording of one of the most enduring and recognised pieces of all time, the James Bond theme.
