The Batman (2022)
Much is made of Joker's "incel" qualities but Pattison's more traditional dark detective portrayal of the Gotham Knight chimes with the dictionary definition of the word.
The world is not as clear-cut right and wrong as one would hope and The Batman leans into this with reasonably good cinematography and a thorough but somewhat plodding plot.

Heretic (6/10)
Took myself off to the actual cinema to watch this, third row from the front
I'm going back to the joy of becoming immersed in the big-screen cinematic experience.
But I mainly only went to be entertained from the POV of Hugh Grant being a not-very-nice man for a change.
He does it surprisingly well, actually.
And the aviator style spectacles help, by making him look a bit like wife-killer Robert Wagner.
I liked Hugh Grant when he was a scumbag in The Gentlemen, although he was still noticeably a bit too likeable-rogue in that role, a bit Arthur Daley I thought.
He attempted to be a bit more "evil cretin" in this one. The religious bickering was an annoying but necessary part of the plot device as he was picking on two Mormon missionary girls.
But the plot of Heretic was fairly tired. A little bit of tension built up from the start as his victims missed his not very subtle warning that they can't use their phones in his house or the "Of course I shall just go and get my wife as a chaperone" - it was all a bit obvious: I was literally going "come on girls, she's not going to come out" - but they were teenagers and Mormons so one assumes they were supposed to be green enough to fall for it. A rather tired old horror trick of wrinkled-woman-in-veil-including-blood did herself no favours either. The only tension was really whether their supervising elder was going to find them in time.
It came to a head when he was snuggling up to one of them and I wasn't sure if he was going to die on her, or bite her throat out which was about as tense as it got.
Might drop that down to 5/10 or even 4.
Sorry, Hugh Must try harder. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

I watched this as the weekend after seeing the spin-off 'Pengin' series was showing on Sky Atlantic (after watching the first episode, i realised i needed to watch the film first, as it picks up the story after the 'incident')
Really enjoyed it, but what i really love about all the Batman movies, is the producers/writers always seem to make the latest version even darker than the previous itteration....... barring in mind, i grew up watching the original Adam West Batman ____________________ Current Bike: Honda CG125 ES4 // Honda CB600FS Hornet // Triumph Street Triple R |

Fahrenheit 451 2018.
I thought it was alright, but it's a story of a specific time and whilst burning books is one thing, burning servers of books? Michael Shannon was great though I thought.
I much prefered the original '66 film. ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

House of Gucci (6/10)
Really very interesting. I did not know anything about Mrs Gucci-the-gold-digger having her-husband-the-heir to a fortune knocked off and it was fascinating. I only watched it because it had Al Pacino in it, and he was impressively revolting Excellent cameo from Jeremy Irons, and Salma Hayek was typically gorgeous.
So I now have a crush on Adam Driver, and am yet again impressed at Gaga. She really didn't need all that early "crazy outfits" history, due to her singing and almost passable acting skills. Although I understand she was heavily influenced by Freddie Mercury, so not surprising really that she decided to go down the outrageous path to get her fame.
Definitely a chick film, though ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

the Witch
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4263482/
had trouble understanding quite a bit of the dialogue unfortunately.
it seemed to try staying authentic to the 17th century period it was set in.
5/10 for me. wouldnt want to watch it again.
id did manage to scare the life out of the wench after we had watched it though, by jumping out on her when she thought i had gone to bed ____________________ current bike Yamaha Thunderace.

The Pink Panther 7/10

Peter Sellers is so funny that i still laugh out loud at the PP movies.
and the actresses were such natural beauties back then. something that seems to be missing in modern cinema. ____________________ current bike Yamaha Thunderace.

Black Adam (2022)
I quite liked the original Shazam! but the sequel was absolutely awful. Sadly it seems The Rock hired the writers from the latter. The dialogue and plot wouldn't trouble a 7 year old yet the tone is dark and violent. Who was this movie aimed at? Also let down by the disjointed editing.
Now we'll never know whether he could beat Superman ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
