Rage and despair after brazen attack kills 26 in Indian-administered Kashmir

To say the least, we have reached a low point in India/Pakistan diplomatic relations. If it does seriously kick off, some things to consider:

In a conflict, India's military would steamroller over Pakistan's in a matter of moments. I doubt they'd attempt to take over the entire country, given how well occupations in nearby Afghanistan have fared historically, but they'd probably be happy with just Kashmir. Because almost all freshwater sources flow through Kashmir to the rest of Pakistan. Why shoot your enemy when you can desiccate them?

If the bullets do start flying so will the refugees. And where will they be flying to?

You seem to imply a binary but not all nuclear weapons are created equal. The Indians at least have a proven skill set at launching things fairly accurately a long distances... the Moon for example. They also have nuclear subs which is a mutually assured destruction trump card the Pakistanis can't play.

Indias space program is indeed impressive. Their close relationship with the Soviets/Ruskies since the 1970s has certainly paid off. Although since colonial times they've always had pre-eminent astrophysicists etc.
