Looking for something that will actually do something to a thief upon destruction. I heard of Skunk locks that release a vomit inducing chemical. Their effect seems to be limited from what I have heard.

Is there anything I can add to locks that I already got such as flammable tape or something? I want something that would make continuing the process unbearable.

Something that gets dye on their hands and white addidas 3-stripes?

That said, anything like that is asking for it to be set in fire instead of nicked.

What's your opinion on wheel clamps and steering locks on cars as additional security measures to alarms, immobilisers, and tracker systems? Are these visual incentives for thieves to cause damage instead of stealing the vehicle looks too complicated?

They are visible deterrents so they probably wouldn't try it. What I was saying if they start trying to steal it and something painful or unpleasant happens to them in the process, your average ratboy will get pissed off with it and smash it up instead.

I always liked the idea of those tyre valve locks that slowly deflate the tyre if it's ridden off with them in place. Too much risk of forgetting about them myself for me though.

If you want to make the process of them being a thief to become unbearable for them then they need to die. It's a scientifically proven fact that thieves commit less crime when they are dead so that is the only answer.

Your flammable tape could be used as a fuse that sets the thief on fire. If they're sat on the bike when the petrol tank explodes then there could be some good injuries from shrapnel as well as them burning.

What other items have you already got that might be useful?

Buy deadly snake venom off that internet.
Take small doses daily until you're immune to it.
then slather the stuff all over your bike and wait for thieves
to die in agony.

Syringes filled with something nasty strategically placed under the seat so if you sit on it the needles penetrate your bum and your weight causes the syringes to inject something into your ass. Could even be just air, I read that that can kill you.

These suggestions are overly elaborate. How about a GPS tracker and a cosh?

Air bag ejector seat. Bad for the bike as well as the thief but maximum comedy value Smile

How about an inverter to boost the voltage then some bare wires sewn to both into the grips and seat.

You guys are really overthinking this. The solution to your problem is so simple! 1) Go to Ebay. 2) get a trap) 3) carry it around with you whereever you go. 4) every time you park your bike, set the trap and use your motorcycle as bait.

What could go wrong?

Here is an idea with potential. I saw it on TV.

PS, I notice that ACME has a nice selection. Good luck!

Funnily and coincidentally enough, I bought some tyre spikes off ebay about 12 months ago just before I declared my car as SORN. In addition to all my other security, if anyone moved my car all 4 tyres would deflate within minutes after driving over the spikes so the thieving scrote wouldn't get further than the end of my street Middle Finger Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Hope your car is worth more than the cost of 4 tyres. Wink Your antitheft strategy could add up quickly if the thieves try to take your car more than once.

Maybe we could refine this idea. How about Bluetooth valve caps with motion detectors: if your phone's out of range and the tyres are rotating the air's let out. Slowly if you want to disable the vehicle, quickly if you want to make things interesting Smile

Why not just take a wheel off and park it on an axle stand?

I used to take the top handlebar clamps off my bikes that were going to be parked up for a protracted period. Try moving a bike with no handlebars.

If Sorn just take one (or two)wheel off and leave it on bricks ..

That would be a good idea for long term storage but my car is/was only SORN for a short period...

Humor aside, if you wish to implement an antitheft solution that maims and disfigures the thief, you significantly increase the possibility that you yourself will become the victim of your own ingenuity.

If thievery were that rampant in my neighborhood, I might consider fabricating an alarm instead. Wouldn't cost a lot, a mercury switch, double pole relay, and a normally closed switch tucked away somewhere on the bike would be all that you need. You could even use the motorcycle horn if cost reduction were that important to you.

I don't recommend doing any of these (obviously!) but I remember the old gory days on youtube when they didn't really mind what you posted provided it wasn't porn, and there was an infamous "prank" where people would disconnect the brakes on their bicycle & then leave it unlocked in the street before enjoying the predictably rapid & painful conclusion to theft attempts.

I imagine this would also work quite well (but again, don't do it for obvious reasons): https://www.tiktok.com/@ideatimes/video/7114643643511688491 & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaZytM_hICY
