They are visible deterrents so they probably wouldn't try it. What I was saying if they start trying to steal it and something painful or unpleasant happens to them in the process, your average ratboy will get pissed off with it and smash it up instead.
I always liked the idea of those tyre valve locks that slowly deflate the tyre if it's ridden off with them in place. Too much risk of forgetting about them myself for me though. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. Air bag ejector seat. Bad for the bike as well as the thief but maximum comedy value ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

You guys are really overthinking this. The solution to your problem is so simple! 1) Go to Ebay. 2) get a trap) 3) carry it around with you whereever you go. 4) every time you park your bike, set the trap and use your motorcycle as bait.
What could go wrong?
Here is an idea with potential. I saw it on TV.

PS, I notice that ACME has a nice selection. Good luck! ____________________ History shows again and again how nature points out the folly of men - BOC |

Hope your car is worth more than the cost of 4 tyres. Your antitheft strategy could add up quickly if the thieves try to take your car more than once. ____________________ History shows again and again how nature points out the folly of men - BOC |

Maybe we could refine this idea. How about Bluetooth valve caps with motion detectors: if your phone's out of range and the tyres are rotating the air's let out. Slowly if you want to disable the vehicle, quickly if you want to make things interesting ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

Why not just take a wheel off and park it on an axle stand?
I used to take the top handlebar clamps off my bikes that were going to be parked up for a protracted period. Try moving a bike with no handlebars. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Humor aside, if you wish to implement an antitheft solution that maims and disfigures the thief, you significantly increase the possibility that you yourself will become the victim of your own ingenuity.
If thievery were that rampant in my neighborhood, I might consider fabricating an alarm instead. Wouldn't cost a lot, a mercury switch, double pole relay, and a normally closed switch tucked away somewhere on the bike would be all that you need. You could even use the motorcycle horn if cost reduction were that important to you.

I don't recommend doing any of these (obviously!) but I remember the old gory days on youtube when they didn't really mind what you posted provided it wasn't porn, and there was an infamous "prank" where people would disconnect the brakes on their bicycle & then leave it unlocked in the street before enjoying the predictably rapid & painful conclusion to theft attempts.
I imagine this would also work quite well (but again, don't do it for obvious reasons): https://www.tiktok.com/@ideatimes/video/7114643643511688491 & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaZytM_hICY ____________________ Current: Yamaha Diversion XJ900
