Dropped it off at Two Wheel Centre. Handed over 100 notes & they'll wash, dry & polish it. Then they whip it inside, stick up in the air & give it the once over. Checking oil, water, air & lubing the chain too.

Happy to support a local business as I don't have the space / facilities to do it at home.

(took em some biscuits in to keep em sweet as well)

Both bikes need an MOT. The tyres on the Yamaha are not only worn but are over a decade old. Pale

And yet I just installed a tyre from 2012. Thinking Took it from the tip three years ago - finally have use for it.

My rear tyre is worn to the limit, squared and also starting to crack across the tread. The front is on the limit and also has a noticeably different radius on the right side (due to roundabouts, I guess.)

If it was a case that your indicator stalk had brewers droop effect, could you not just swap it with the other side to eventually over time counter the effect?

The one on the right was replaced for the same reason 5 years ago. Actually I probably snagged both when squeezing past in the garage, but when they age they don’t bounce back, they tear off.

Went to investigate what I thought might have been a hot seizure some weeks back - I put it in neutral and coasted for a few hundred yards and it came back to life fine when I put it in gear and I just carried on and have been riding it since.

But obviously it was a seizure in the making from the gudgeon pin retaining clip breaking. Classic occurance, that I had yet to experience until this point. Laughing

Shocked So that's a new circlip?

File down the high spots and add some new rings - job done Wink

Spot on! (I don’t have the facilities to do it at home. (Greasing I do myself but I let them do it on a mini service))

Not at all. Always on hand if I need something. Fit me in if I need something doing asap & drop me off back home if I leave the bike there.

A quids worth of biscuits doesn’t break the bank.

Almot piston only 4k miles old. Used the gudeon and clips that came with it. I had to put this new one in as the old piston had a piston ring retaining pin recess into the piston allowing a ring to turn and get caught up in the exhaust port- thankfully little damage from that too.

Barrel is gouged but thankfully mostly only below the side/exhange port which is good. Might put another new piston in again. But cut the clip ends shorter to reduce likelihood of fatigue on the bend allowing the end to flex off. It's not rare for this to happen, i'm just disapointed. Laughing These sort of set backs continually occur, as one might expect with a selection of older motorcycles.
